I use segment 3 of NEBDR to introduce people to overlanding. just enough obstacles around October Mountain and up by Monroe to be interesting without requiring too much technical skill or heavy mods. plus all the quirky and quaint Taconic and Berkshires stuff. it really is a great route. my only complaint is the dispersed camping in MA (which is where most of segment 3 is) is terrible.

It's definitely a great route. I agree camping in scarce in that area.
