Thanks for the help man.. did this today. Was a zoo with so many vehicles. Did it in a high clearance pickup truck and was fine but still a little sketchy at times but no problem

ggqbc Nice man. Yeah its fine just have to be careful. That’s why I leave home from Surrey early for hikes, 5:30 am usually. Especially on popular hikes and to avoid traffic also on the roads. Last time I did cheam I was the first there and saw a bear in the meadows. When I left the parking was full and people were still driving or even walking up the road.

Awesome video! Thanks for the upload. All of those landmarks were super helpful. I'm going there tomorrow for the first time with my 03 Pathfinder 👊🏽 I just installed 2" springs and 32" tires, so I'm excited for the adventure.

Great video shot for the reference. The rugged road heading to the trailhead is so narrow, and I'm wondering how to deal with the vehicles meeting up on the opposite side?
@silencenhikes6692
@silencenhikes6692 4 жыл бұрын
There are wide enough sections and some pull outs, you or they might have to back out a bit to get to one, but personnally never had an issue.

thanks! its amazing how fast you are going through the waterbars , if i'm correct, with 8.3 inch clearance? was there any contact at all? just went with 8.7in clearance (sep 2020) and had to go much slower than you did, all was ok but we did slightly bump the bottom guard, no big deal. already approach each waterbar at an angle that would maximize flatting at the bottom curve. we did also deflate to 22PSI , maybe that lowered my clearance abit. and i'm glad we did, because not sure how or who, but there were sharp wood screws at the parking lot... we removed them.
@silencenhikes6692

geminihc1 yeah cool, not sure my clearance total but did not deflate my tires there. I did hit my tow hitch but just because I had an extension piece on it and it scraped the bottom but other than that no problem. Guess those water bars just gonna get deeper and deeper with our rainy seasons and snow melts. Its such a popular hike I would think they would eventually fix up the road a bit. I think they have done it in the past. If its a pick up truck than i can see you scraping more the bottom and needing more traction if the back of the truck is empty.

Nice video! What kind of camera mount did you use? The video doesn’t shake at all!

Hi Thank you for Uploading this! been looking into doing this hike soon! did you have to air down?
@silencenhikes6692
@silencenhikes6692 4 жыл бұрын
No did not air down. I have seen people with subaru outbacks. 4x4 is recommended but high clearance can do it. Just big water bars to get through.

@@silencenhikes6692 Thank you for replying! I have a 2001 Mazda tribute (ford escape) V6 with 4wd which is about the same size and height as your pathfinder? just without the 4lo... I think that should be good yes?

@@alecdelacroooz if you cant make it all the way you can probably make it about 80% of the way and walk the last 1.5km. I have a lifted forester and i had to do that as well due to one very sandy steep section.

Plan on doing this sometime this summer, I'm assuming stock all season tires would survive this right?
@silencenhikes6692

Yes all season everyday tires is fine. A good clearance is the most important.

Hi! You think a bmw x3 could make it to the top? I'm wondering do i have to rent a wrangler or a truck for this trail.
@silencenhikes6692
@silencenhikes6692 2 жыл бұрын
I don't know the condition of the road now after 3 years. If it has been worked on than should be ok but if not than I don't recommend it. High clearance is better. Don't need a full on 4x4. I have seen subaru forester up there and one time a guy took us up in a honda Crv older model years age.
@EdgeRoofCleaningCanada
@EdgeRoofCleaningCanada 4 жыл бұрын
Did you even have to use 4x4? Back in 2011 i did this trail with my 2WD ranger. Maybe the trail is worse now as I have not been up since.
@silencenhikes6692
@silencenhikes6692 4 жыл бұрын
You don’t necessarily need a 4x4 but high clearance is recommended. I have seen people scrape the bottom of their subaru outback. But yes i did it a few years back and the waterbars have gotten worse.

over twenty years back this was drivable in my westy to the top, was up there around six years back on the dirt bike with friend, much more thrashed out, been up cheam a few times and lady once, the later was a little dodgy being early in year, view down to jones lake was quite something, enjoy you"re travels.

@silencenhikes6692
@silencenhikes6692 2 жыл бұрын
In March you will still have lots of snow on that road. I have seen subaru foresters or outbacks which have higher clearance but crosstrek not so sure. You could scrape the underside on some sections.
