This is one of the first tornadoes that actually terrified me to see. The constant lightning mixed with this super cloud of menacing death. I would’ve loved to see it in person. Glad to have you guys there to catch these moments and be safe through them all.

I grew up in Marceline Missouri which is about 20 miles from Linneus. It is going to take years for the town to recover from this. Thankfully a lot of the smaller communities around have already started rallying around and helping to do some storm clean up today and have also brought supplies like food and bottled water. The area is under the threat for more severe thunderstorms tonight, but the worse threat appears to be to further north. Hopefully they get a break.

A damage survey conducted Sunday found three distinct tracks. The largest tornado is believed to be an EF-2 that struck near Linneus in Linn County. This tornado lasted roughly from 8:22 p.m. through 8:46 p.m. and was on the ground for nearly 12 miles. Estimated peak winds were around 135 miles per hour with this tornado and with a max width of 250 yards. No injuries have been reported.

And the ferocity of the winds far out around the periphery of the tornado was impressive as well. Mr. Reed Timmer, you are person of extreme value in knowledge of extreme weather, especially tornadoes. I was in the U.S. Air Force and I seen it snowed here in Michigan in August, 1976 when I was stationed at Wurtsmith AFB, Michigan. It stayed on the grass but melted on the pavement. My last AFB I was at was Sheppard AFB; Wichita Falls,Texas. Weather wise two dust storms, a leftover from a hurricane going due north of the Gulf of Mexico. 55 straight days of 100 degrees or more and 20 of these days of 110 to 114 degrees. The worst was a F-4 tornado came through the city. Forty four people died that day and 1,200 injured. Where we were at just lost electricity. KZbin has videos of this day called "Terrible Tuesday". With all due respect as you are a meteorologist, it would be honor that I subscribe to your KZbin channel. I live in southwestern Grand Rapids, Michigan metro area called Wyoming, Michigan. There were people moved westward of Wyoming, Pennsylvania back in the 1840's and 1850's to Western Michigan. They liked their old town's name so they used it as Wyoming Township and in 1959 the City of Wyoming, Michigan. Be safe in tornado alley. I have relatives on my dad's side in Southwestern Missouri.

Dr. Timmer, I do hope that you can please address my question: Are you seeing more and more of these "wall cloud carousels" coming down ON DECK, than you ever did, from the times that you first commenced storm intercepts? These "carousels", seem to be the next size classification, UP, from mere multi-vortex wedges. That carousel's base looked like it had about 20 "raker" vortices suspended below, touching the ground.
