Nice! I saw your exact plane takeoff the other day and I didn't even notice until now that you were on it!

This is the best sound quality I have heard from a 787. Great job!

I'm glad you think so my friend. I do attempt to always have the best audio possible. Unfortunately sometimes other passengers around me ruin it. Thanks for watching my friend!

Hi, great video! I have a flight soon and I was wondering what you used to stabilize your phone to film without holding it with your hands? Is it some kind of mount or suction device?
@sla31
@sla31 3 ай бұрын
Well I can't help you there my friend. I film 99% of what you see on here by hand. And there's two reasons for that. First, half of the airlines don't allow mounts to be attached to their planes. Even if we're just talking about a suction cup that won't do any damage. And then, for the airlines that do allow it, half of the time you get a crew member who doesn't like it anyway. And they tell you to take it off. So, more than 50% of the time, you'll just be told to remove it anyway. But, that isn't the main reason why I film by hand. The main reason I film by hand is the amount of vibrations present when flying. Between the engines and the air friction, there are tons of vibrations that run though aircraft. And if you use a mount that's attached to the window, all of those vibrations get transferred into the lens of the camera and it distorts the footage. The only way to eliminate this is to isolate the camera away from the aircraft. Now, this problem can be avoided if you're filming with some type of action camera like a GoPro. They are designed to be vibration resistant. However, I do not use GoPros because their overall video and sound quality is very poor when compared to the cameras in an iPhone 15 Pro or Samsung Galaxy. It ends up being a "you can't have your cake and eat it too" situation. You either sacrifice video quality and have an easier time onboard with a GoPro, or you sacrifice your own comfort for a much better quality video haha.

@@sla31 Thank you for the response! I must say, I am genuinely surprised that you film everything by hand, simply because your footage is always so stable. That's why I thought you used some kind of stabilization device; you must have some incredibly steady hands. I also plan on using my iPhone 14 Pro, do you have any tips or advice on what camera settings to use? For example, do you use ProRes, any filters, or anything like that?

@@zzgaming29I’ve been told I should’ve been a surgeon 😂. I film everything in 4K at 60 frames per second. I don’t use ProRes as the file sizes are massive. Like even more so than 4K already is 😂. I do film with full HDR enabled. I travel with two 1TB iPhone 14 Pros that I don’t use for anything but filming. And I use that space up fast enough without filling in ProRes. I then edit everything in Final Cut Pro. The only thing I ever edit post filming is sometimes color corrections. iPhones have amazing cameras; but sometimes the blues/greens get a bit blown out a bit. Otherwise, I do very little editing wise.

Great fly! Have you heard Hurricane Beryl barreling down towards the island in the Caribbean with Category 4 hurricane status at 130 mph at the time of typing this comment?

Yes, I've seen that. I believe there's a second storm right behind it too basically following in its tracks.
