Looks like a cross between a 1911 and a Makarov. Also with a touch of M9, which was pretty much THE detective/cop gun of the 80s. I suppose part of the future gun aesthetic comes down to it's similarity to all three guns, but namely the M9 in my opinion, which was the gun of choice for Hideo Kojima's 1994 space opera, Policenaughts - which in itself was a perfect blend between neo-noir, cyberpunk, and retrowave.

I had a moment or two with an older Benelli on a dove hunt some years back. My favored shotgun is an old Wards double so it, the Italian, was rather exotic and very smooth. Your Alfa analogy seems adept. Should you ever have a chance to sit in/drive a 1970 GTV the steering wheel might appeal to you. It's my favorite part.

I would argue Alfa Romeo are and always have been just as good and sometimes better at what they do than Ferrari. They made some of the best affordable sports cars of the 20th century, my dad restored a 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulietta spider to it's full glory. Double overhead camshafts, aluminium block, 4 valves per cylinder, disk brakes up front, aluminium panels and hood all over the car, a most wonderful transmission and mechanical steering column that lets you feel every single force the tires are subjected to.... Very close to what ferrari offered at the time, yet way cheaper. During the 80's, the various versions of the Alfa Romeo Alfasud blew the doors off of Golf GTI's, whilst ferrari had gone full millionaire club only by then. Not to pass any judgement, just that I think this is a poor ewample.

I can see why these never made it. High capacity was really coming into its own at that time, and this is a single stack. Guns were getting lighter, and this one is heavy. Also, this really does not do anything better then other hand guns of the time, only it does it in a slightly more complicated way, ha. It does make a bit more sense as a competition gun for the time.

Oh right. I forgot the hollow point issue. Also a deal breaker for a combat handgun. Not really as much these days since we have some interesting combat bullets that are not traditional hollow points, but they did not have them back then.

Now, to complete your reviews on the Italian "wonder 9s" of the '70s-'80s you have to review a Bernardelli P018 (visually, it really seems a combination of the Beretta 92 and the Benelli B76, having the sharp angles of the second to mimic the curved surfaces of the first) and a Tanfoglio TZ75 - TA90. ;)

They are not actually lever delayed, they have a inertia locked system, where the recoil actually locks the gun. These systems are really really rare but awesome and super interesting. But the video is really good and many websites and sources wrongly say that its delayed blowback.

The really good collection, but it is not lever delayed mechanics, i.e. a lever delayed design supposes the delay based on multiplication/force redistribution between lever's shoulders by rotating using some kind of an axis, B76 has a something similar to a lever, but this part works by pushing the bolt down to a locked position using the back part(the first part to removed in disassembly) of B76 slide , that pushes the "lever", but do not use lever shoulders approach. It works like that there is a short period of time before a slide inertia starts to move it back and the back part of slide pushed the "lever" down, the "lever" push down and its maintain the lower part of the bolt locked in a pistol frame, but after a while inertia shifts slide slightly back, disengage back part of the slide that pushes the "lever", simultaneously a little groove inside the top of the slide pulls the bolt up to unlock it from the frame - Benelli calls it an inertia delayed system and they use the same design in their shotguns too.

WOW..Stumbled upon your video...I have admiration for S&W steel rimfire models (1967) 46/7" & (2016) 4/5" are two I own... I would love to get an older M41 however in Australia they are rare and the Yanks don't like sending them over the Pacific. Forget the PPC 9...Haven't seen one in AUS!! I like unique firearms...I have a Keltec PMR30....Plastic I know. Those sport models are gorgeous, the finish is very sexy....Shit I sound like a stalker....$8K USD I just may have to be a peeping Tom. I own a large collection and know a considerable amount about firearms, but I gotta say, I had never even heard of this gun, lol. The pronounced grip angle has an *effect* on the recoil geometry. If you draw it out to the extreme, a forward angle with the heel immediately under the trigger guard**, would lead to crazy muzzle flip. With back angle, the slide has to work harder against your hand and wrist to get the muzzle to flip. **(In an imaginary gun, that's just a thought experiment.)
