The word "cheap" I use all the time with products owned/made by chinese, you mean is affordable Japanese watches.

Can't believe i have this exact same watch which I bought for around US$200 around 20 years ago. Took it out from cupboard where it has been lying around for a few years now and it is still working and looking like new. Watching this make me want to go and get the aftermarket president bracelet even though the original looks great and feel extremely comfortable.

It is a beautiful watch and the cost is nothing compared to the others but I think many collectors have an skx 007. It has that something.....

Nice watch, I own a seiko skx007 with Arabic date wheel. When I bought I did not know it had a English and Arabic day wheel function but I think it makes it more special and probably more desirable for collectors.

Good to see you are keen to get watches like these. I think they’re great, I thought perhaps you’d only buy high end timepieces. A lovely review.

Please make the video on the difference between the Malaysian & Japanese variants! Would be interesting to watch & I'm sure your subscriber base would be interested in such a video too!

Exactly! Really keen to find out the differences apart from a different dial (other text).
@HunGerMovies4 жыл бұрын
@@EdwardV20 There are videos of that on other channels. Actually there is not much of a difference, it is a matter of luck if you pick one where the quality control did their job well. Also, I am not 100% sure, but I guess all the components are made in Japan - maybe except for some paint work - and only the assembly is done in Malaysia. But this is just an assumption I cannot confirm.

I bought one recently at about €198, nice without the Prospex "X" on the dial but the movement stops randomly. Now I keep it in a winder while not wearing it.

I have a seiko as well (not made in japan) and to be honest the timekeeping is quite awful. After a few days youre talking about minutes of difference. Mine might be slightly magnetized because of the environment im in from time to time. I've been thinking of getting a quartz watch so I wouldnt have to worry about it that much. It would be interesting to see the diffrence between the Japanse made and Malaysian made version and how big the timekeepimg difference is. For the skxes, the 009 looks more interesting because of the colours, but since you have a pepsi I understand why you would want the 007. In the booklet you glossed over, I thought I saw there were 3 stages of the "open" crown. Is there a manual wind on these Japanese models or did the first stage mean the crown was screwed in? Thanks for the video, it was interesting :)
@felipemautner88556 жыл бұрын
MultiLuc28 wow! I’ve had mine for about two months and believe it or not, it’s keeping time to -0.3 seconds, not daily but throughout this whole time. I hope it maintains that. I do have to say though that the chapter ring is misaligned which is kind of annoying.
@MultiLuc286 жыл бұрын
It used to be a lot better as well when it was new (I've had it for about 4 years now).
@EdwardV206 жыл бұрын
Chapter ring is almost always misaligned, don't worry about it too much. A really good working movement is better to have than that ;) Are you really active, and or do you put it on a winder when not in use?

The SKX fully deserves its almost cult following in the #watchfam. It’s a bit rough and not COSC spec, but cannot be beat in terms of real world value for money.

Where would you recommend to buy the upgraded bracelets from? The rattlesnake bracelet on mine has been put through it's paces and strech seems to become quite bad after only 3 years or so. From new there was stretch too of course, just not that much. Also those non solid links are getting on my nerves and I could do with solid end links😂

I know it’s an iconic watch, but as much as I try I can’t seem to connect with mines and I know it’s because of my Squale 1521. I know I’ll catch 💩 for that, but oh well. The SKX case feels way too clunky compared to the 1521.
