I lived there. I strongly recommend you visit Kanazawa. It takes just a few hours from Tokyo by bullet train. Kanazawa is one of the few cities that weren't destroyed in WW2. You can find an intact Japanese atmosphere.

Greetings from Chattanooga, TN. Thank you for the wonderful Winter Wonderland of Kanazawa. I am moving there this 10/30. The last time I saw snow of this magnitude was in March 14,1993. We received 18 to 24 inches of snow. I love the snow, so I'm hoping to witness and experience all I have seen here in this 2022 video. Looking forward to my new adventure in life in glorious Japan.

丁度この日に某工作機メーカーに出張で金沢に来てたんだけど数日前から大雪になるぞと 気象庁が発表してくれていたので電車では無く自家用車(ランクル)で現地入りしたのが幸いして まだ通行止めになってなかった高速の一部区間と下道を乗り継いで何とか県外に脱出することが 出来たなぁ。 金沢出るだけで２時間以上かかったけどw
