I was at Osan AFB a couple of weeks before going to Kunsan AFB in 1971. I was maybe 19. Met a Korean girl named Ku, she cried when I had leave for Kunsan. Even though I met others in Kunsan, she was special. She must be in her seventies now like me. It makes me sad to think she is old now like me.

I was stationed at Osan Air Base in 75-76 and 82-83 the area has made a massive transformation. American society can learn a lesson from our South Korean friends in how to invest revenue in upgrading infrastructure. Quality of life in that small nation has made a giant leap for the better.

I was stationed there 78-79..nothing there back then ,it was like slums ,dirty, only a few paved roads same railroad tracks but was full of trash and exposed rails and ties...place looks great now..clean

Wow! Things have changed. If I remember and if that is the same gate to Osan, shops and things used to go up to the front gate essentially; basically the front gate was pretty much at the end of the street if I recall. No more "Juicy Girls"? Is Osan still the number one Article 15 base? Never did the bars much and way back when a controversy with some street vendors using old waste papers from the base to use for the fried food on offer. Also, no go go dancers or slot machines in the NCO club? As an officer we used to have commander's call in there. Mostly the O club next to the Mexican restaurant. That was one year out of my life that I am glad has passed. Enjoyed the year there but glad to leave when I did. Prior to Osan, was stained at Norton AFB, C-141 aircrew. We were at Osan overnight, one of our loadmasters slipped on the ice put his arm through a window and died from the bleeding as they could not stop it before getting him to the hospital. I would say from the video, give or take where that BOSTON shop is located. It was one of the many sneaker shops that lined the area in those days. Nice to see that it is a pedestrian area now.

Wow.... that is not the Songtan i remember (06-07, 09-10). Very clean and quiet. They really cleaned up the strip. Idk if thats a good thing or a bad thing 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
