In this clip we see some of the newly introduced Class 745/1 Stansted Express units at Stansted Airport. 745107 is seen leaving on 1B61 Stansted Airport - London Liverpool Street and 745106 is then seen arriving on 1B64 London Liverpool Street - Stansted Airport. Filmed on 17.08.20

Everytime i see this train on the way to work i think will the coaches ever end😂 I havent even thought to count, but it must easily be like 16 cars🤷🏽‍♂️

If the only AGA can transfer the class 379/0 on the lee valley lines. That would be good. Fingers crossed the class 379 will stay

Given the Greater Anglia franchise was let on the condition all rolling stock would be replaced by new trains, I think it's unlikely the 379s will stay.

Well with the 379's they might end up with Great Northern so the 387's can replace the 455's all they need doing to them is to uprate them to 110 MPH like EMR are doing with the 360's

There are no plans currently to replace the 455s on Southern in the current contract for GTR so they wouldn't need them and I doubt Great Northern would replace the 387s with an older variant of the Electrostar.

Is it me or doesn’t this comment make sense? Because when since did GN have 455s? EMR do have 360s now thats true i happened to be on one to luton two weeks ago when i really wanted the 222 but it was all gd hadnt been on the 360 since the days when it ran from Liverpool st

I do wonder what will happen to the 379s, perhaps they could be converted to 3rd rail DC and sent to Southern to replace their 455s/313s?

Unlikey, there aren't enough units to cover the 455 fleet entirely and the conversion to DC 3rd rail would be an expensive one.

@@KentRailProductions I agree with you, but it would be a step in the right direction? I do worry what will happen to these trains as they're still relatively new so it would be a shame for them not to find a home

@@MikeWillSee There is a possibility to suggest they will be exported to South Africa as Gau Train have expressed interest in purchasing 2nd hand Electrostar Emus to increase the size of their current fleet.

Gutted that the Class 379s are being replaced by the Class 745/1s on the Stansted Express route. Hopefully Greater Anglia should keep them for the West Anglia and Hertford East services and maybe to use the Class 379 on the Stratford-Stansted Airport service. For the time being the 379s are being retained and used on other services where the older and more knackered 317s can be retired.
