Ex-Navy here. AE2 stationed at China Lake with VX-5 from 72-76. Worked on A-4s, A-6s, A-7s, Cobras. Loved working on the Skyhawks more than any other jet!

Not to may know this technical feature of the Cold War era A4 Skyhawk. The extra height of the landing gear was designed to carry a single Mark 7 nuclear bomb.

Always good to see a Skyhawk flying! The engine start procedure is a nostalgic pleasure too. I've seen this TA-4F at Oshkosh many years ago. Nice to know it is still airworthy.
