There is just SO MUCH history in this city it is difficult to cram it into any one tour or video. For instance, at about 13:00 - 15:00 of this video you see King's Chapel, but right across the street is the Parker House Hotel (now the Omni Parker House) - this is where Parker House rolls and the Boston Cream Pie were invented - it is also where both Malcom X and Ho Chi Minh worked as busboys when they were young - it is also where JFK proposed to Jackie Kennedy - and it is also where Charles Dickens gave the first public reading of his immortal work, "A Christmas Carol" (Scrooge and Tiny Tim) outside of his home country of England. All that in one unassuming building on an average Boston street. It's like that everywhere in Boston - on nearly ever street there is a site where someone famous was born, lived, invented something or something famous happened. So many things that we think of as being "American" (both old and new) came from this city - even the telephone. Boston is truly unlike any other city in the US.

Thanks for sharing! Boston is one of my favorite cities in US. The Freedom Trail is a unique way to explore the historic places. I wish I had more time to explore the city.

If you think it looks pretty here you should see how beautiful Boston and all northeast USA including NYC look in autumn/fall when it is cold (40 degree sweater weather) in foliage with different colored leaves and leaves falling omg so pretty and the smell of cinnamon in the air

Fabulous, fabulous Boston. It reminds me of our home country England and the red brick buildings of Manchester. But Boston is much more manicured. We have been to Boston just for a day and spent most of the times around Harvard. Have you got one of Harvard ? I am now subscribed. Like your style of no talk. Can you provide some time tagged info of places you passed by. Thanks very much for your uploads. Hope to see them all.

TO BE BORN IN BOSTON IS ONE OF GODS HIGHER BLESSINGS AMONG MEN, I TREASURE MY MY CHILDHOOD, TO BE SO CLOSE TO THE FATHERS OF AMERICA AND WALK THE STREETS OF FREEDOM. AT 65 YEARS OLD I NOW FEEL THE JOLT OF IT ALL. THE OMINOUS GHOST OF THE OLD NORTH CHURCH WHIPPING AROUND THE FROZEN BOSTON COMMON. THE BLESSED TWERK OF FEELINGS AQUIRED FROM ONLY A BOSTONIAN LIFE HOVERING OVER THE BOSTON COMMON IN IT'S SOLEM FORM OF HISTORICAL BLISS.. FLY ANGEL FLY.....! I WILL ONE DAY JOIN THE HEAVENLY ETHERIAL WORLD ....!

Why is the whole world jammed together in one place? Just a thought. If every city starts to look more and more the same, where would we find our beloved diversity? How different is Boston going to be from any other major US city? (apart from the architecture of course). Like, do we not give a shit about characteristics and uniqueness of each and every city and it's people? How about local cultures? How about some sense of community? I seriously don't get it. But maybe I shouldn't get it, I'm a European after all and I'm used to a different kind of life. I probably should go back. US is not what I thought it would be. I'm kind of disappointed. But overall it was a great video. Good job! :)

@normandavies76035 жыл бұрын
You've got a very good camera, it's a shame you didn't plan the project out. If you're going to follow the "freedom trail" ,why not start at the beginning and not go at it 'higgley piggley''? You gave no indication as to where we were. When there were information notices you ignored them and we didn't even visit 'Old Iron Sides'. I advise you to take a look at "BookingHunter" video of Philadelphia. Live and learn.

I followed the Freedom trail from the start at the visitor center. You can see the red-colored brick paved on the path I'm walking on. There's a description on each site I passed on the trail.
