Thank you for your comment ✨It is one of the traditional Japanese rituals☺ Setsubun is the event held to pray for our happy and healthy life. On that day, we throw away beans with saying "Devils out! Happiness in!" This is called "Mame-maki" And people eat beans as numbers as their age.

The road up the hill leads to a beautiful temple temple for an interesting religious ceremony. And in front of the temple there was a huge crowd of people and a lot of policemen keeping order. Thank you for the interesting video and best regards. 😀

I don't know this beautiful temple in Tokyo, I was impressed by its beauty. Why are beans distributed? Is it a way to scare away devils? I find it a very interesting and genuine tradition. Great job! He enjoys it a lot. Thanks for showing. Greetings from Spain my friend!

Beans, like rice, are a source of human energy, and it was believed that by sowing beans, which are believed to have "spiritual power," people could ward off illness and misfortune and also gain strength by eating the beans. Setsubun is the event held to pray for our happy and healthy life. On that day, we throw away beans with saying "Devils out! Happiness in!" This is called "Mame-maki" And people eat beans as numbers as their age.

@@TokyoLonelyWalker Thank you so much for your explanation. I find Japanese traditions very interesting, they are very different from Spanish ones. It's a shame that when I was there it didn't coincide with any traditional ceremony. Greetings my friend!
