this bird landed as a Cessna 172: head down dive right to the threshold and then level and flare at minimal height. Amazing! You know why? Because in the battle fields, you want the angel as steep as possible to decent as quickly as possible to reduce the exposure to enemies. The problem is you may be too fast as the result of such diving. It demonstrated the speed control of the airplane for such amazing landing tactic.

One difference however, are the engines. They look like older turbo jets vice modern high by pass turbo fans.

No, it's not, They are all large-scale military transport aircraft with conventional high-position single wing, four engines, high tail and belly multi-wheel landing gear configuration. Y-20 is the follow-up model of IL-76, and the wing is on the upper surface of the back of the fuselage. There are obvious bulges on the back of the body.Thus, the wing structure will not affect the cabin space. The wing of the C-17 passed through the fuselage, and the wing structure invaded the warehouse.The height of the middle roof of the warehouse has to be reduced, which leads to the limitation of transporting large integral goods. The technical routes of aerodynamic design of the main wings of these two aircraft are also different. Y-20 adopts the same large flap lift scheme as IL-76.The C-17 uses a jet flap lift scheme.
