Kalamazoo has heated streets and sidewalks in their downtown (no need to worry of snow), sitting near the doctoral ranked research university” Western Michigan University” and the private college ( referred to had Harvard of the Midwest) “ Kalamazoo College” lib arts school, which is located next door to WMU.

Cambridge (and overall, Boston) is a MUCH nicer (and a more interesting) city than New Haven is though. However, Yale's campus is more impressive overall than Harvard's is. Me personally, I love Collegiate Gothic (Yale) much more than Federal/Georgian (Harvard) as an architectural style for a campus. Yale and the University of Chicago's campuses have a LOT in common based on appearance (Chicago being built on Yale's model). However, Yale definitely is designed based on Oxford University in England (if you ever visit Oxford, you will absolutely see where Yale's architects got their inspiration). And although Yale does have some Georgian style buildings on Old Campus, Gothic is still the featured predominant architectural design. I went to undergraduate college up in the Amherst/Northampton five college area in Western Massachusetts, and Mount Holyoke College (the oldest women's college in the United States), has many old Gothic buildings similar to Yale's also, but on a much smaller scale since it's a much smaller institution.

@@tillyboos Thanks for your informative architectural comment. New Haven is my home town and yes, Cambridge is a much nicer town to kick around in, but Yale is beautiful. The annual tuition and minimal living expense budget to go to Yale is $73,900. This is for the 2018/2019 academic year. If your family struggles financially, financial aid will be given. However I will not give anyone false hope. Yale is extremely selective of who they choose to accept. In order to apply, perfect or near perfect grades and ACT/SAT scores are necessary. After that, extraordinary, standout essays filters the top students around the globe. Yale accepts less than 7% of applicants every year. This means that fewer than seven out of every 100 students get into Yale. When you are competing with the most brilliant minds on earth, be prepared.

When you are in college, you don't talk to anyone. The only time that you talk is if you are in class or at a party or with the people you know. In everyday life, walking to class or maybe getting something to eat, you never speak to a stranger. Everyone is in his or her own little world. It's like this at every college, big or small, for 18-22 year olds. For many, it is very lonely.

for thousands of years English writers have two punctuation symbols (1) the dot and (2) the comma, both have been used to clarify sentence relationship. Briefly, the word elderly is incorrect because it has to be either adjective or adverb meanwhile it has to be replaced by another word (e.g. oldman, senior, oldperson).

LOL, J. Crew, Yale's unofficial outfitter. I'm an Urban Outfitter's guy more myself, I prefer edgy to preppy. I LOVE Yale's campus, it's one of the most incredible university campuses in the entire country. New Haven? Meh. There are better places to live and study in, but you don't go to Yale because it's in New Haven, you go to New Haven to go to Yale (yes, I drank the Yale Kool-Aid I guess). I almost went to Yale for my MFA. I got a better financial/fellowship/assistantship award from a university in NYC instead, but man did I REALLY WANT to go to Yale. After I earned my BA from Hampshire College in Amherst, MA, Yale was literally at the TOP of my grad school list. If I hadn't had to "follow the $$$$" then I would have been a grad school Yalie, since I had gotten in. I ended up in NYC for grad school though. I don't completely regret it, BUT, Yale would have been an amazing experience. I was totally in love with Yale as an institution though, it's more bohemian and artsy than the other Ivy's, and more liberal also.
