This video bring back memory. I was travel on this line with JR Rapid "Kairi" Joytrain on weekends. OMG!!This new E400 Series train got English announcement. JR, you should made this compulsory for all your line. BTW, From Niigata all the way to Akita are fully electricity track. Why JR still using Diesel engine train.

The fast "Kairi" window is big and the view is nice. The reason for using a diesel car seems to be that there is a dead section near Murakami station. Thanks for watching.

@@trainview1980 E129 EMU from Murakami to Niigata are way better train than E400 DMU. E129 acceleration are way faster and no loud braking sound. (E400 using brake force to generate electricity, that why cause loud braking sound)

@@LimChingLiang The line is divided into 2 electricity supply currents, it's DC in Murakami- Shibata, and AC after Murakami. A similar situation can be seen on the Tohoku Main Line, where in the section of Kuroiso - Shin-Shirakawa, but they used the E531 (a dual voltage train, both DC/AC), DC/AC trains are expensive. BTW, search this "JR東日本 非電化、単線化". This is about JR East Japan's future plans of cost reduction, which includes de-electrification of some rural electric lines.

@@natahn9568 Thx for the explain. Inaho Limited Express E653 can run DC and AC, that why can run from Niigata to Akita
