You can get an aluminum drum that has a steel sleeve on the outside that lets you run a front band on it but that drum is like $900-$1000

I had Jake tell me that the only difference between the early and the late valve body was the pressure control solenoid and that you can just swap them out. Is this true?

So my biggest concern with the aluminum drum is steels wearing grooves into it, I really wanted to put it into mine but I street drive it alot and builder said they wear pretty quick if driven alot

Yea they are a wearable item. I’ve been back into a few units I’ve built (with aluminum Coan drums, anodized finish) and they all look very good. Minimal if ANY wear where the steels contact.
