Football has some heated moments.. one of the most notorious moments happened when LeGarrette Blount threw a devastating punch after a loss to Boise State. Most people don't even remember the game, this punch overshadows it all.

If this were hockey and a guy sucker punched someone both teams would ensue into a brawl. As an example, my first ever game was Ottawa at Buffalo and it wasn't even a sucker punch that began it. But nevertheless, it was a fantastic brawl. One of our players got sucker punched some time down the road and there was a big stink about it. My point is that, they care a lot about sucker punches but if 2 guys hate each other, they drop the gloves and fight. Another example is from my 2nd favorite team Washington. Tom Wilson and Ryan Reaves (correct me if I'm wrong) and talking shit to each other while they were in the penalty box and the exact moment they got out they dropped the gloves. That was a great playoff game to a perfect season for my Caps ;)

Y’all don’t understand these players backgrounds , without that fight in their nature , they would’ve never made it to where they made it , to play football at a high level you have to be very competitive and a little crazy , especially at running back

Elijah Levy Apparently what Hout said to set him off was "how about that ass whoopin?" And their background ain't an excuse, my high school football coach was former NFL and all-American linebacker Trev Faulk and he grew up without a father figure in his life. You know how, knowing him personally, he'd respond to something like this? He'd walk away, work crazy insane hard to get better, then whoop their ass the next time he played them.

I'm a graduate of Boise State and a lifetime Broncos fan. While the punch was shocking, remember that Boise State was at that time the most feared non-power conference team, and it was basically lose-lose for a power team to play Boise. Beat Boise and you get little credit because Boise was not a power team. Lose to Boise and you are known as the power team who lost to a non power team. The issue here is that Hout decided to gloat, and Blount, who was understandably frustrated by his team's loss reacted as many young men would have and threw a single punch. College football fans make a big deal about this because first, Boise has long positioned itself as the victim of an unfair system, particularly in the BCS era, and many football fans were sympathetic to that fact. Second, this incident was blown out of proportion because a black man punched a white man. If not for the racially motivated desire to villainize Blount, who didn't do anything that countless of other young men in his position might have done, this would not have been nearly as big a deal. Since that day, Blount worked hard to earn his way back onto the team, and he indeed does have a reputation as a far more mature man following the lessons learned that day. Don't accuse Blount of being any more than he was in this position, which was simply a frustrated young man.

Never relax, I guess is what Yann, and Evan are saying. When men have a problem with something another man says, they do one of two things: address it using their words, like civilized people, or else address it with a fair fight, like less civilized people. The loser in the video didn't do either of those things. I would even forgive a momentary emotional outburst as in pushing the man right away when he "said a mean thing and hurt Blount's feelings", but this loser waited until he was turned away and then aimed a deliberate sucker punch like a piece of shit.

What people who don’t play football don’t understand is that it’s soul crushing for you to have the worst game possible and then be taunted by the guy you were going against. People say that Blounts actions were unsportsmanlike but 94s actions triggered the whole thing. The 2 clips after Blounts interview are things just getting chippy, I think people who play outside the box (receivers, safetys and corners) don’t understand that’s an every day thing even in practice.
