I was a little kid during this era. Guys like The Boz and Bo were literal super heroes. There were no highlights back in the day like today. Everything was word of mouth like, "Did you hear what _____ did?".... They became legends in our minds. Even if they weren't always truly legends on the field!

He had a great mind for marketing, that’s for sure. Apparently they sold 10,000 anti Boz shirts at $15 a pop for that game, and Boz donated all the proceeds to a children’s hospital. So despite a disappointing NFL career, it seems like Bosworth is a good guy whose heart is in the right place, and that’s what’s important in life

Boz truly is a product of the 80s. I grew up in those days and in a time where you got three channels over the air and maybe Sporting News or Sports Illustrated in the mail...he was everywhere. Almost as much as Phil Collins, who also only could have been huge in the 80s. He definitely seems like a man who grew up, got rid of that persona and became a stand up human. And as a Bronco hater in the 80s, I do love how he played the fans and got John Elway all bent out of shape.

If Boz wasn't playing on astroturf, he probably would have had a nice 7 year NFL career. Sadly the Seahawks played on that in the Kingdome plus at Arrowhead for the Chiefs until after the 1993 season. So that's 10 games minimum. I am not saying he was going to be a all pro, but he could of have a nice career. At least we can see him as the sheriff in the Dr. Pepper Fansville commercials.

For a kid growing up in the 80’s, I can tell you The Boz and The Rocket Ismail defined my love for college football. Such excitement tuning into games back in the day when only a few games/week were actually televised nationally. And those 80’s Miami teams that everybody loved to hate. An awesome era in college football when a guy would normally stay for 4 years and dominate year after year. And the excitement of New Years Day when there were about 87 bowl games. The first OU game I went to was Nebraska in 1985. I lived about 30-45 minutes away from Norman. The next Monday we went back to Norman to the mall because I wanted a 44 jersey and in my mind one that came from Norman was real but one from Oklahoma City wasn’t. At the mall I saw The Boz. I was in awe and waved at him. Dude came over and talked to me for about ten minutes. No reason for him to do that other than he knew who he was and what he meant to kids in the area. Guy was two different people, the Boz was bigger than life and in your face. Brian was just a good guy living life in the shadow of his alter-ego. National Communists Against Athletes

A self adoring icon with a big mouth, who happened to be one of the best ever at the position he played. He was even more over the top as an athlete and competitor on the field. A healthy Bosworth was as good or better than any Pro Football Hall Of Fame middle linebacker. The way he covered the field and seemed to be in on virtually ever tackle. Even in defeat at Miami in 1986 he looked like the MVP of the game, with arguably the best performance by a middle linebacker ever in the history of college football. Unfortunately for his pro career, his shoulders didn't age well.

I Met Lydell Carr In '98. Great Guy, Great FB (Averaged 7.5 yds Per Carry). Keith Jackson (Underrated TE)...Spencer Tillman (Speedy RB)...Darrell Reed (Underrated OLB)...Dante Jones (STUD)...Jamelle Holloway (Wishbone Master QB) And "THE BOZ" 👊🏿!! The Real Gift That Brian Bosworth Had Were The Wheels...HE COULD RUN!! "REALLY REALLY RUN" As A "Mike Backer" 👌🏿.

I love how a bad season for Oklahoma is 8-4 😂 Just shows what kind of program that place is.

Main thing I remember about the Boz documentary is I think the doctors mentioning to him that he had the shoulders of a 55 year old, or something like that. Like DAMN.

For all his antics Boz has been successful in life. He has a decent net worth.

Bozworth needed to realize it wasn't any shame to be bested by Bo Jackson. I don't think he ever got over the shame of that

I lived in Seattle during Bozworth’s rookie year. You could not go a day without hearing SOMETHING about Brian Bosworth. It eventually got nauseating. He said he didn’t care what anyone thought of his hair but talked about it constantly. I was already tired of him before the season even started. But I later realized that football is entertainment and he played it to the fullest.

I was a 16 yo Hurricane fan, when he came to the OB. Boz was the REAL DEAL. Dude won the first two Butkus Trophies. He wasn’t a bust. I don’t care how good you are…if you shoulder problems, especially as a LB’er, you’re not gonna have a long career. He was an absolute Beast!

Brian was the prototypical NFL linebacker great size and speed with good lateral movement but the injuries were a killer! For a linebacker shoulder injuries are a big thing and extremely difficult to overcome! He also got way too caught up in his image instead of focusing on his job! A typical case of putting the cart before the court! The image made him a target and he talked smack when he should have been focusing on playing football!

Now that we have NIL, it really shows how ahead of his time he was. He's a pioneer to the notion that college players should br making money off their play and image.

Not just with the Boz but i think we should exempt those with injury issues from being labeled busts. Unless it was just not taking care of themselves they didn’t have control on it and it just sucked that it worked out that way but it wasn’t cause they weren’t good enough

Honeslty Brian Boz gets respect from me. He owned up to his mistakes and most 18 to 20 somethings would probably let there heads run away with them following such massive fame.

Just imagine how much money THE BOZ would have made if he played right now. With Social Media and the NIL?……He made the university so much money back then…..Just like the FAB 5 in Michigan. Those guys deserved more than just an “education.”

The Miami Hurricane fans rode him hard in that game but still came away with a quiet aside "whew he's freakin' great" respect. Boz had an astounding 22 tackles. He was all over the field. Not only tough but super fast. Never have I seen or heard of that number matched by anyone, college or pro. And it was a huge game with tremendous ratings. Hate it that virtually all my favorite players had short pro careers. Tebow. Johnny Football. The Boz. Even Big Bird in baseball if anyone remembers him? Joe Namath's was relatively short by Tom Brady standards. Less than half of Brady's historic career. Magic Johnson was essentially forced out early. Jim Brown went for Hollywood cash with a ton of mileage left in the era of lower pay for NFL stars.

My 8-year-old brain exploded when the Seahawks drafted the Boz. I couldn't get my parents to give me the haircut. I was really looking forward to him playing a long career and was very sad when he couldn't play any more. He was a hero to budding football fans.
