Yeah, it's funny he came out and played for the Seattle Seahawks. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, although my number one team was the Miami dolphins cuz my dad had been a fan of theirs since the '70s and I started falling him hardcore in the 82. But I was also a Miami hurricanes fan because in those days you have to understand I started loving them because they had dolphins colors. But what those days the Oregon ducks sucked. The Oregon State beavers sucked. The scholarship rules were different and they were horrendous year after year after year after year they didn't make a bowl till 1989 for the first time since the '50s and it was still chicken s*** little bull they weren't any good really. Oh until well they were okay from 89 till about the mid-90s. They were okay. The Oregon ducks were like little average. Maybe above average in the pac-10 but that was it till they made that Rose bowl in 95 against Penn State and lost but they sucked 89. Like I said with Daddy O'Neill is there first so I was a hurricane span cuz the ducks would win like one game a year or two games. Three maybe the most beavers would win about one game year. But yeah anyway I remember when Oklahoma was going to it. Oklahoma is one of the four colleges I hate in the country with a passion. I don't use the word. Hate. I hate Ohio State. I hate Oklahoma. I hate Notre Dame and I hate Alabama. Those four colleges I've hated since the '80s. There are a lot of other ones I don't really care for but I mean those are ones that I detest and there's nobody. I would root for any one of those for playing against not they played each other. Vinny testaverde can you imagine if he wouldn't have been colored blind? How great he would have been in the NFL that really f***** with his interception ratio in the NFL with the fact that he was completely blind. It's too bad if Vinny hadn't had that color blindness man. He was a f****** baller

I was a student at OU in the middle 1980s when Bosworth was on the team. A lot of people don’t realize that when the Boz was at OU, the roster was one the greatest ever assembled at the college D1 level going 33-3 with a National Championship (‘85) - played for two (2). All 3 losses were to the Miami Hurricanes, one of the games in which Boz’s initial shoulder injury occurred - which would ultimately seal his NFL fate in a few short years ahead. The Boz truly was a great LB in every sense of the word. The guy could run a 4.5 in pads. He was far more dominant in college at OU than Derrick Thomas (HOF - KC Chiefs) was at Alabama. Also, he got off to a similar start in the NFL toThomas’ (started as rookie - good stats). Problem was, Boz had damaged his shoulder at OU in the Miami game. All of the insiders knew that there was a big chance (based upon his attacking style of play) he would not survive in the NFL - and it happened (his shoulder failed).,

@@carljacobson7156yeah standing Bo up when he’s got all the momentum just isn’t happening. Like Boz said if that play is 2nd and 10 at the 50 next play is 3rd and 6. He didn’t get around fast enough to get his head ball side and drive him lateral toward the sideline. So ultimately Bo wins touchdown Raiders. That’s all that matters. But that play is hyped way more than it is in reality. Mfs act like Bo put Boz flat on his back and ran clear over him.

Bravo gentlemen. This was awesome to see the satire. We need more of the BOZ on social media. I was a middle linebacker and fullback when boz came in the nfl. Had the BOZ hair, Peyton’s Roos and Bo Jackson trainers, beastie boys licensed to ill cassette in our Walkman in the 80s. Thank you for the flashbacks.

I always hated how people think Boz couldn't compete in the NFL instead of the truth which is he would have been a great player if not for his shoulder injury.

Boz was one of the best college linebackers I have ever seen. As a pro, he had potential to very very good but was cut short to injury. Now Bo, was a freak of nature. What could have been if he had played football full time and didn’t wreck his hip against the Bengals. Would have been an all time great.

Since the NFL doesn't allow performance enhancing drugs (steroids), Bosworth had a short career. He was busted in college for using them, and when he couldn't continue in the NFL, his career was short lived.

I wished when I was a kid my eyes opened and understood that he was way ahead of his time . In buisness he knew how to market his brand👍and when he called out the NCAA (so true! Worst today) the saving grace I think for him was that he took and gave hits in the NFL for one year avoiding hopefully CTE👍

I remember when #55 was the number that was the most popular when I was in high school. I was the backup to our #55 I was #60. #55 became our classes best linebacker my sophomore year. He was all conference on offense and defense for four years. That why I was always his backup.

The Boz was one of the most dominant LBers in college. Yes, he had a great team but he was a phenomenal combo of quickness, speed, ferocity and intuition. I proudly hang my 44 and 55 jerseys. Just wish he didn’t hit so hard and use up all his shoulders.

Great vid. Growing up in the PNW back then almost all my jock friends had a Boz poster on their wall. I'd forgotten he was #44. Not being a huge football fan I associate that number with one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time and another athlete who markets himself really well (to the tune of $140m contract). Keep up the great content Mr. Manning and team. Pretty happy this came up on my feed and thanks for the trip down the memory lane.

The Boz was ahead of his time. If you were a teenage boy piayng football in the mid to late 80’s , you idolized Bosworth, there had had never been anything like him before. Say what you want about his NFL career, the guy is probably the greatest college football linebacker in history and is still the only 2 time Butkus award winner. Anyone who’s ever played football, knows the Jackson incident isn’t a big deal. They talk about it like Bo trucked him and he did not, Bo had the angle and momentum to break the plane of the end zone.
@lrvracer35155 ай бұрын
You are correct about the Bo touchdown run. The other Seahawk linebacker had missed his assigned gap and Boz was sliding over to cover. The game announcers didn’t mention it, Boz never spoke about, and the general public never understood what really happened on that play.
