Just ordered a 4motion transporter to replace our 2wd transporter. Very long delivery time from Germany due to semiconductor shortages and general covid disarray. Hopefully by this time next year we will be able to retire our well used and traveled faithful companion. Although a capable , reliable and economical outback tourer, the added 4wd ability will allow access to those places beyond the comfort zone of the FWD version. Thanks for the effort you put into this channel.

Thanks Sue. Great to hear from you. Appreciate your kind words and ones that motivate us to do more to share our story and also share the great ability of the 4motion vans. Hoping to get stuck into doing more vids as soon as we can. Enjoy your travels. Cheers. Alex.

You did a great job, you know how to share, you are also very experienced in off-road vehicles, and you are good at photography. I am in Melbourne, and I am also thinking about buying a car like yours. Because of the epidemic prevention and lockdown, I have not started to act. Check your channel first, come on, and don’t stop updating. Already subscribed.

Steve. Thanks for your message. We have travelled all over outback NSW and the east coast of Australia as far as Bribie island. Sadly covid stopped us going further. Waiting for australia to open again we we can get stuck into it. Cheers. Alex.

Hey mate what's your fuel consumption like?
@4motionadventures9343 жыл бұрын
Hey buttora. We are getting between 9 and 10 litres per 100 at the moment fully loaded. Top fuel consumption in my opinion. Hope this helps. Cheers. Alex.

@@4motionadventures934 Wow that is incredibly efficient for a decked out camper that has off road capability. I have done a lot of research and there is nothing as versatile as this vehicle. Thanks for the videos, cheers.

Hey guys, what's the brand of the Bullbar you have installed on the van? I own a T5 (2015) and I am looking for a proper Bullbar with recovery points. Also I want to install a Snorkel, do you have recommendations for that? Why do you not have a Snorkel on your T6? Cheers
@4motionadventures9342 жыл бұрын
Hey mate. We recommend you check out Kombi life Australia. kombilife.com.au/collections/frontpage There you will find all the gear you need. Just to clarify the bullbar we have was fitted by trakka australia who sourced the car from Queensland bullbars. The bullbar does Not come with a recovery point. That is an after market part we sourced from kombilife australia but was fitted by trakka. We have done a vid in that. As for snorkels vw recommend fitting the Seikel snorkel however it’s not cheap. We did find an alternative with a product in Spain called bravo. These are an alternative if your van is out of warranty. We also recommend fitting after market diff breathers. We will be fitting both in the new year but again you can source all the gear other than the bravo snorkel from kombilife australia. We have also recently purchased a hand winch to use for self recovery. We will be doing up a vid on all the above so keep a look out for it. Hope all this helps. Have a good one.

Really fascinating, this adventure. And it must be equally emotional and at the same time very demanding, to drive on these paths, with sand and dirt. However, only in this way, there is the possibility to see these wonderful places.

Thanks IL Fred. You hit the nail on the head. For us the preparation, anticipation, each kilometre, enjoying every minute is what drives us to explore. Hi from NZ 😄 Really enjoyed your channel!! Found it when I was researching about VW 4motion. If you would not mind, I have a bit of technical question. I just bought a 2018 vw crafter 4motion cab chassis to convert into an adventure van. I’m building a box on top of the chassis. I could not see the rear diff lock button in the van. I am going to assume the van does not come with the electronic rear diff lock. Q: should I look into installing the factory rear diff lock with a VW dealer? I’m not even sure whether they will do it for second hand cars. I intend to change my tyres to good all terrain ones. Would the 4motion and all terrain tyres be sufficient? I am looking to do adventures here in NZ similar to your adventures (not sure about water crossing or tough challenging 4wd routes though 😅) I’ll start with some off beaten paths first. Thanks heaps and hope that you guys come out of lockdown soon!

Hey Beatrix. Thanks for your kind words and support of our channel. As I understand it there is one in Australia who can instal a rear diff lock ex factory. Having some off road light truck construction tyres is a great idea. Also. If you intend to travel off road it will mean you will be increasing the gear you carry so keep an eye on your gvm. You might want to consider getting some Seikel after market suspension that might give you a lift and this plus with the tyres will probably allow you to tackle Most outback touring tracks. I would also highly recommend purchasing a set of 4 maxtrax (recovery boards) or similar Because you do not have any rated recovery points on your van so if you get stuck here maxtrax will be your best friend. Hope this all helps. We are definitely looking forward to getting out and about but are happy to do our bit in keeping Australia safe. Stay well. Happy travels. Cheers. Alex.

Beatrix. Forgot to mention. Be sure to check the wading depth in your van. I think from memory it’s about 300mil but not sure. Note tint air intake is at the front of van about headlight level do you don’t want to be sucking in any water Or it will be game over. !!! Cheers. Alex.

Thanks sooo much Alex. I already put the max track from watching your video when you pulled the toyota out of the sand! I am upgrading my suspension, will def look into Seikel. 👍👍
