I'm a driver and I'm ok with a tire change or some water, but I've never had a car repaired and don't really know what's in it, you're great!

Hi Alex, Great video and good tips - particularly the video/photo taking suggestion. If I noticed correctly during your underbody inspection, you have skid plate/protection plate covering the engine, however no other underbody protection - particularly over the fuel tanks - although you do appear to have rock sliders. What has you experience been with underbody protection and what do you recommend for a T6/6.1? What do you have fitted and why? Cheers Martin
@4motionadventures9342 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. Re underbody protection it’s a good idea to have it. We only have the engine guard and sill protectors as you rightly point out. I was concerned with the gvm in terms of adding more protection. So if you are going to get it make sure you take that into consideration. I would recommend the sill protectors for sure and engine guard. The engine guard will protect from stone damage into vital parts plus it acts as a little sleigh ofer mud and sand. The sill protectors are great because the ramp over angle is not great on our vans so this is a little extra insurance. Hope this all helps. Happy building. Cheers. Alex.

@@4motionadventures934 Thank you Alex - I am currently going for the engine guard and the rock sliders - GWM is a challenge and the fuel tank cover is very big and quite heavy. My base transporter arrives from VW end of next week, and I am looking to have the fit out completed by mid July - very exciting. One of the first things that I want to do is the four motion training weekend. On another note, we messaged a while ago about your compressor - various oft your videos show you letting air out of your tyres however none show you pumping them back up - will you be doing one showing your compressor setup? Cheers Martin

Thanks mate. Look forward to seeing you on one of our courses. I am actually heading there now for a cracker weekend. Great idea re the air compressors. We have an onboard unit and I also carry an extra portable one as back up from bushranger. I will do a clip on it as I think it’s a great idea to share the info. Cheers. Alex.

Hey Alex, thanks again for your Video. Quick Question regarding your Spare. Is it identical to your 4 Alloy Wheels & Tyre Size?
@4motionadventures9342 жыл бұрын
Paul. Yes. Our spare is identical to our main 4 wheels and tyres being a 225/65/17. We find they you will need a larger wheel cradle bracket to fit a 235/65/17. Hope this helps. Cheers. Alex.

I've actually fitted 235/65/17 Pirelli Scorpions ATR's all round plus upgraded the Spare to Alloy and Same. Yes a tight one but got there without tyre deflation.

@@paulclutterbuck4307 thanks mate. That’s great info. I might go up a size thanks to your experience. We are currently using the kuhmo roadventure at 51s. So far so good. Keen to learn more about your experience with pirrelis. I have heard they are a great tyre. Cheers.

I’m currently using 235x65x17 ATV K2 BF Goodrich. Fitting the spare tyre was easy with the help of a Dremil,and a little plastic removal. Using normal road tyres I was only getting approximately 30000 kil on both the Michelin and then the Hankook.I now have 55000 kil on the BFG and they still look in excellent condition. They gave me approximately 25 mil additional hight in ground clearance, and more importantly the speedometer is reading the same as gps at 110 kil an hour. Hope this is of help to anyone who’s interested
