How do you install diamond tiles on the wall? Have you used a template before? What was your experience if so? If you haven't used a template, is this something you could see adding to your skillset?

Where the heeck do you get those 1/4" pine strips? Nobody has them here. What are they called?

Home Depot has them where I’m at. They’re sold in the lumber isle. At my store they’re next to the lattice panels.

Do you grout the corner? I was once told that when tile changes plane, you don’t grout, you caulk. Honest question before i start my tile home project. Thank you! The shower looks AWESOME!!!!

100% silicone color matched to the grout is the only thing to use. Don’t use siliconized latex. If the tube says it’s sanded or non sanded you have the wrong thing. Silicone will also cost about twice as much as siliconized latex.

It works great. The hot glue is easy to remove to make the wood pieces reusable as well.

I think we spent a couple hours setting up the walls in the basement to be ready to template. It didn’t take long to make the templates themselves less than half hour each. The hardest part was cutting the tile. I did keep ahead of the guy setting but I didn’t want to have it all cut in case we had to make adjustments. I don’t remember having to adjust anything, but if we did there was already a reference line drawn on the tile. Great question, thanks for asking.
