awesome video,as always enjoyed it.Sometimes late at night when i hear a locomotive's airhorn like the ones you recorded it gives me chills.the sound makes me lonesome.love to see the diesel exhaust from hard working locos!

Isn't his crazy? I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm living several miles away from this line, but horns wake me up at night and it makes me upset that I can't see the train lol.

Very nice ! The Long zoom makes the track look like a roller coaster track. :)
@mbmars017 жыл бұрын
I know, it looks spectacular, but for some trains it really is like a rollercoaster lol.

As time permits, I'll make more excursions in the future, but for now I'm back on my home line. Thanks!

Nice one as always sir! That A050 was the cut of cars that had been at Bogart forever.
@mbmars018 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sir :) Ah, okay, so I finally got to see that train moving, but maybe he's already back. There have been quite some work trains on this line recently. A rail train W951 is waiting at Howie right now...

Always a good place to catch trains. Even better when the days are longer and the sun angle is better. I saw that sign in Bogart, saying it was 46 degrees out, right now that sounds great compared to the almost 80 degree weather in central Florida! Looking forward to some Macon, Ga railfanning next.

This was already the high on that day, with the low in the 30s and chilly wind. I'm definitely looking forward to spring!

hey MB I caught three trains in Athens yesterday two autoracks and one grain train and one manifest today btw what were the scanner channels for the abbeville sub ? also I liked the fowled horn
@mbmars018 жыл бұрын
Very nice. The channels are 160.290 (dispatcher) and 161.100 (road).
@RailPreserver2K8 жыл бұрын
mbmars01 thank you btw since my computer has been out of commission I have filmed the videos that are on my camera on my phone and while I re-record them I have been doing commentary and I plan to have the video that has the videos of the trains uploaded to the channel
@RailPreserver2K8 жыл бұрын
mbmars01 do you know what frequency scanner channels 160.290 and 161.100 have to be on so that they work on your scanner ? I just put them in on mine but idk if there on the correct frequency in order to work idk if it's FM, AM, MHz, BM. when you type the channel numbers into your scanner while your at the Abbeville subdivision does it show the type of frequency the channels have to be on in order for them to work ?
@RailPreserver2K8 жыл бұрын
mbmars01 the video I told you about is on my channel
@mbmars018 жыл бұрын
These frequencies are in MHz. I have stored the two Abbeville channels in one bank of my scanner. Nationwide, railroads use about 100 channels, i.e., different frequencies in the 160-161MHz range. One always has to figure out which are used on a line one visits.

Great video! Any idea what is the smoke going from engine at 1:32?
@mbmars017 жыл бұрын
Thank you! You typically see smoke if the combustion process is incomplete and the diesel fuel wasn't burned at sufficiently high temperature.
@RestrictedProceed7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for reply. I was just surprised that the smoke went from the side of engine and not from the exhaust :)
@mbmars017 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's not how it should be lol. There was possibly a leak in an exhaust pipe.

Love the horn show at 1am guess you were tierd? by the way Broad castify has a channel for NS, CSX, And Heart of Georgia rail radio frequency for Cordele area Crisp County Ga.

I never really get tired when railfanning. It's just too exciting lol. Yea, I know the channel. It's operated by a good friend of mine.

Great catches! Why are they doing so much maintenence?
@mbmars018 жыл бұрын
Thanks. That's a good question, idk.
@trainlover12348 жыл бұрын
mbmars01 was it just that they were holding up a bunch of trains due to so much maintenence? was there not as much happening because of that?
@mbmars018 жыл бұрын
Note that the trains in the video are from 3 different days. There isn't very much activity on this line and because of the ongoing track work most trains run during the dark hours.
@trainlover12348 жыл бұрын
mbmars01 ohh. so how many have you caught in those 3 days other then the ones in your video?
@mbmars018 жыл бұрын
All I caught are in the video. Of course, there were more trains. On a typical day, I'd say about 15 trains come through here.

Up here everyone calls Q192 the Scrub and Q193 the Chub. Even shorter up here lol
@mbmars018 жыл бұрын
One wonders how they can be even shorter lol. That's funny that they already got their nicknames. Here it's more like that if our "standard" intermodal Q194 is short, he is dubbed Q192 by other trains it passes ("hey you look like Q192 haha"). This L192 in the video was actually the first 192 I ever saw, because he comes through here at about midnight and I rarely railfan at this time :) This time I did, but not because of him but because Q211 was supposed to have an FXE leader, which thanks to a confusion in the CSX system was not the case. Oh CSX!
@CaptainJustice1666 жыл бұрын
I was lucky enough to catch Q192 on one of its first runs ever on the A-Line. It had an ES40DC and I think about 7-9 intermodal cars, and I'm like...."WHAT!?". But yeah lol, it would be very rare to see it with two locomotives which I had once. It's somewhere on my channel

Did anyone elses hear that first csx's horn it sounds like a yell
@mbmars018 жыл бұрын
A rebel yell lol

Yeah. Never heard any horn like that. It's strange, but also interesting at the same time.
