Imagine this for an alternate take on Endgame. Thanos keeps his farm world, but it’s fortified as hell and while each of the Avengers battle against his forces on different sides of the planet in order to get different character interactions and arc wrap ups, Thanos mentally battles himself about what is right or wrong regarding the snap and maybe even gets hallucinations of his victims plaguing his mind. Maybe he could see universal side effects of the snap. Maybe he uses the Space Stone to travel around the universe and sees that things aren’t better. Maybe he tries to bring back Gamora with the Soul Stone Maybe even a villain like the character Annihilus comes from another dimension due to a dimensional tare from the snap, and Thanos has to deal with the side effects of that. Maybe then we could even get a final battle with an inter dimensional army and Thanos fighting alongside the Avengers to make things right and snap things back to normal. I still love the Endgame we got and I have massive respect for everyone who worked on it, but like a lot of films in the last decade, it’s fun to think of what could’ve been

I have to agree with drinker and shad. Homecoming sucked. And you can't use the "don't compare to the comics" excuse when it's LITERALLY A COMIC BOOK MOVIE! If your taking a story be it a book, manga or comic or even a video game etc and make a film your obviously gonna compare it to the comics and that's always been the standard And maulers whole "who the fuck cares" argument actually annoys me because if any of his detractors said that he would be pissed

But the basis of the argument "it should be like the comics" is already invalid because the MCU in itself isn't like the comics.... This is why mauler usually makes the separation of "good movie" and "good adaptation". This has already been discussed and broken so many times at this point and it's crazy people don't try to engage with maulers viewpoint when looking at other examples he provides
