I’m not sure if you’ve done transmission rebuilds before but that’s cool that you’re doing your own, great way to learn at least

Your mercury is going to be awesome when done. I’m glad you’re doing your own transmission & you know what’s in your transmission.

You mentioned that transmission classes were the last certification you needed from Ford and that the dealer didn't send you. You are certainly getting that training now. That is going to be one stout transmission when you are done.

basically the same principle as a wet clutch on motorcycles.when you need alot of surface area, but dont have alot of room to work with.

600$ part. Well worth it for hp builds.

Does it really need that $600.00 upgrade? I'm doing an aod rebuild for a 500hp street car. Really didn't want to do that upgrade.

Does it need it? No it doesn't but will it give you extra reliability when you really need the power put to the ground..... absolutely

I'm going to spend the money on a Valvebody. I believe (could be wrong) that's where the longevity is at.
