Manual gear boxes are Great, none of the Grandkids want to borrow that, but the automatic with paddle shifters, I have to hide the keys. Great episode, lots of info!

Very true. Like them both for different reasons. Hooning? Funner in a manual. Stop and go traffic? Autttooooo.

Goddamnit. You explained everything wrong about my shift lever on my 76 F150. This video is one week too late. Hahaha This would have helped me six months ago.

Totally disagree with your opening statement regarding manual transmissions. It's all good though, some just don't have the coordination to operate a clutch, shifter and gas. Lol Enjoying your projects, keep on keepin' on.

Not my sentiment, I thought that it was funny that Clarkson, one of the hosts of Top Gear and the Grand Tour, was whinging over manual shift cars.

@@AutoRestoMod one thing is sure, manual transmissions are definitely a thing of the past. Autonomous vehicles have a devil of a time with manuals. Lol

I've been amazed at the subtle differences between Mustang and Fairlane though they are essentially the same chassis.
@AutoRestoMod4 жыл бұрын
Well, both are unit bodies but there are a number of differences. The handling of transmission mounting is one area, and the Fairlane has a lot more structural strengthening. But, things like suspension are common.

Fox Mustangs run the arm in the down position, 94-98 also.

Jeff I'm working on Fairlane 66 body & putting in 69 351w. C6 transmission was to big , so went for a rebuild Fmx ?? How do you feel about Fmx , i was told alittle better than a c4 ?

Yeah..... It's quite a Clusterfuck - but SO COOL!!!😎 Maybe I'm leaning back towards Mustang again! 😲 I'm kinda Old and broken. There's only so much I can do anymore. My list includes SN95 (cheap and plentiful still), Foxbody (USED to be a dime a dozen!!!😞).... I'd REALLY love to get a 68 Fastback, my absolute favorite. But I've got a better chance of winning the Lottery AND growing my 22 year old Hair back. 😖😭 Guys, this is going to be SAHWEET when she's done!!! 🇺🇸💯👏👏👏👏 And I'll be watching! 😉 Carmine ✈🚂🚙

How do you have you torque converter lockup set on the controller.

Air-to-air coolers are 30% less efficient than water-to-air. You willing to give up 30%?

@@AutoRestoMod Don't agree with what? The laws of thermodynamics? It's a fact, jack. It's fine to run an external cooler, but it should be plumbed AFTER the factory cooler in the radiator tank. You should never run ONLY an external cooler, which is what I was replying to on OP's comment.
@Austinadcock2 жыл бұрын
@@chuck_machine late to the thread but for locking torque converters cooler flow is more important than the actual cooling. So you are best to run these coolers in a parallel set up that T’s off of both lines and into both coolers. This way it will take the path of least resistance. Also even if you run an AOD I’d recommend upgrading the lines for the same reason for did with the 4R70W. They were tired of torque converter warranty replacements.

Why would anyone buy a manual? The question should be why would anyone buy a stupid television, shift into gear and stop crying.
