Can you sit up straight on your bed?

Definitely cannot sit up fully. I can sit cross-legged but have to be bent over. Otherwise, I can recline against the back of the front passenger seat fairly comfortably if I’m laying in bed and want to read or something. Obviously, your height will play a huge role in how much you can or cannot sit upright! 🙂

Yeah. I have a snacking and driving problem… it’s always junk, too. Like powdered donuts. I never eat powdered donuts unless I’m on a road trip. 🤷‍♂️

The drawer is just added weight. The plastic tub is better

Yeah, I definitely wanted to keep the whole setup as light as possible.

How does your bed frame “float” above the pull out tray? Sure would like to see how you built your bed frame.

It’s basically just cantilevered out over it (think a notch in the end of the frame). If you look at the linked blog post and download the build instructions, it will make more sense. 🙂

@@MichaelRungPhotography , no worries. It looks like your bed runners are cantilevered on the folded rear seats. The runners look like they hover over the pull out tray. On another note, your Mamiya large format photos are amazing, btw.

@sabio2009 the bed frame does sit on the tray, but the end is cantilevered over the plastic lip on the tray (where the release handle is). The boards are sanded smooth so they glide nicely when I pull the tray out. As for the photos… I think you have me confused with someone else as I don’t shoot large format. 🙂
