He didn't overhau and rebuild an HBCU. We hired a bad coach and during Covid we decided to keep the interim until we knew how things would shake out during the pandemic, then the AD rolled the dice on Prime, and it worked out. But the program has had a winning tradition for almost 5 decades. Yes, he turned around a P5 program, but in some ways it should be expected if you take your two 4-star recruits with you and you have all of sports media behind you

1-11 the year before he showed up. Then they improved to 4-8. Now they're 9-3 and were one game away from a probable playoff bid. Not to mention multiple projected first round NFL picks. At MINIMUM he's wildly impressive. Any other coach would be lauded for this without a second thought.

@Taxthechurch For the period of time, yes. 1-11 doesn’t tell the story of how bad CU was: -29 point differential was by far the worst in CFB. By comparison, 1-11 Northwestern had a -15 point differential. 2023 point differential was -6.7 - the biggest year-year increase in CFB last year. This year it is +13.2.

He's the best, along with the late Eddie Robinson at Grambling. Robinson put more than 200 players in the NFL, while operating, with minimal resources, from an HBCU in Louisiana. Deion Sanders represents the ultimate football narrative, much like LeBron does for basketball. It baffles me how they can even think to compare Deion to other coaches, especially since both of his head coaching roles were at schools with limited resources. In comparison, Coach Prime is doing 0-60 while other coaches are doing a rolling start, there both it’s not a fair comparison..

Cam really did an excellent job here. I only wish that it was pointed out that he has the potential to be the greatest. Don't crown the man king before he has the throne. I didn't agree with some of the idea at the beginning, but Cam is right Coach Prime walking into a young black 5 stars house talking to mama and dad being honest with them of the work and responsibility it's going to take to get to the NFL Deion is ready to change people's lives. I think there will be players taking the discount to play for Deion. They're going to know they show loyalty and the work they will be rewarded and have a better life whether they make the NFL or not.

Cordell Stewart went to Colorado as well. That hailmary play to win the game in the 90's. Cam is right about prime impact at cu n will out grow his current position n transition to a better opportunity at another university.

Eddie Robinson didnt do the unthinkable and go into a 96% Non Black School and build a program in a City Where about 15 or less blacks lived. You not looking at the magnitude of what Deon did. Deon did it at an HBCU and non HBCU University and boost their whole city econony. Heck politicians couldnt do what Deon did...

I’m a Cam Newton believer he has converted me!. Dion was one of the greatest and most dynamic player of the game, but his ego was hard for me to swallow, but I can see now how winners are built! Amen to what Cam says about great black coaches and what they do to the game. I’m a fan of the game.

I am white and I agree with Cam. If Black coaches got a fair chance like White coaches they would excell. Look at all those HBCU coaches back in the day, that produced NFL Hall of Famers, some considered the GOAT at their position. White universities it's a good ole boy system. Look at AUBURN & FSU as PRIME examples. Auburn is failing under Hugh Freeze and they had a shot to get Deion, he was with Under Armour already. FSU just dropped the ball completely and quiet frankly, Prime will not go to them now(Danny Kanell stamped that). Now let's see if the Raiders will drop the ball or give Deion what he wants to leave Colorado and come coach his son in NFL

If you truly been paying attention since the beginning primes got his hands in over a hundred million dollars a year at Colorado, why would he leave that to go to a pro team for 10 maybe 20 million dollars a year if he's lucky? I'll answer that he won't. Now if someone lays out a path to ownership ultimately that'll be the pro team that Dion goes to, short of that, he's going to be content staying at Colorado at least 5 years and maybe longer.

Fsu ain't near ready for this level of change. That's what breaks my heart. As a day one from diapers..watching Prime play and as an Alum..its devastating to see the complacency and the real reason why we're not ready...we'd rather lose in public than to gain this level of leadership that looks VERY different from our past. They're NOT READY. Nor is the world for very obvious reasons. As Coach Prime says... Come on dawg keep it 💯 💪🏾 All about life lessons and college coaches playing the numbers game with student athletes
