Yazbeck Hunter 7mm socks + Blue70 triathlon socks and maybe a pair of Yaz 1.5mm socks will keep your feet warm in 4°c water for about an hour. Make sure you can get out, put boots on, and stomp your feet out and you should be good with a 7mm suit/mitts. Gloves will not work below 10°c for more than 25min.

Made up for it yesterday 11/18/23 nabbing 7 fatty bugs and breaking some 1:50's and a 2:07 on a couple long dives. Water is 11°c and vis was excellent at 8m. If you're ever in New England hmu!

Many years ago rented a condo on a beach in the Hawaiian islands . Meet the locals we had the love of spearfishing in common. They took me fishing it was ok . Then I started going to the tourist beaches that they avoided with a passion . The reefs were loaded with fish id never seen before speared a huge parrot fish and im talking 15 pounder. They told me if isaw one get it i did we all ate it they cooked it . When I told where i got they didn’t believe me until one of them went with me he couldn’t believe it. Theses guys were locals born and raised the beach was 5 minutes down the road. Anyway that was 35 years ago. What im trying to say is check places where you least expect to find fish like a over crowded tourist beach.

I always make sure to proper breathe ups. Typical the deeper you go, the longer the breathe up. When your diving with a partner, you can breathe up while your safetying them, so you can get into a nice rhythm of one up one down. You never want to rush a dive, that’s how you can into trouble. As you practice more you can start to sense your heart rate and breathing speed to see how much longer you need. But no fish is worth risking your life. Always take your time
