These are always watched with a tinnie in hand. I had a good 4wd in Oz during my time there, a '96 3L V6 Nissan Pathfinder. A lot of you may laugh at that as many did during my time in there but I often got the last laugh standing at the top of a dune or the end of a track pulling out what looked a far superior vehicle. Granted I didn't do the Victorian tracks in this episode but it never faulted once on Fraser, Two Rocks, WA as a whole, it took me w/e/s/n into and out of Alice Springs, the Flinders, the McDonnels east and west, the Oodnadatta as well as a load of tarmac and many, many more. Aside from some good a/t's on the rims, uprated shocks and a few new hoses as well as regular servicing it was a very reliable beast and I have to say, a lot of it is the driving and preparation. Awesome video guys, making me really want to come back, get a Patrol, kit it out and do the Simpson and all the other tracks I never got to do........ Australia made me fall in love with off roading..!

They have no respect for the bush, ruin tracks for everyone else and degrade the environment. Any moron who thinks it is a good idea to purposely make or get bogged in a mud hole or boring up a wet track creating wheel ruts should be banned from access.

They have camping destinations and they arent out to purposely wreck their vehicles. But they are taking them on very risky tracks to push their skill and experiences to the max, so damage is a pretty high risk they understand from the very beginning. Barney though does get pretty wild. But its his rig, his choice lol. And they are well paid for this stuff, so repairs are probably paid for by the many sponsors they have. And these tracks are close to the most extreme you can get and still drive a 4 wheel truck through them. The hard tracks all have cheat trails around them, if I understand right, so the super hard parts parts are often there for guys who really want to push their vehicles. Making ruts is part of the process. If you guys dont like it, simply dont do it. Its not for most people. The timid and poor just cant handle it it, like Ben Murray here.
