Awesome video Hendri! Wens ons was ook daar. Ek sien jy het Free Wheel hubs voor op Pugly. Het dit enigsins 'n verskil gemaak aan krag of brandstof gebruik?

Hi Freddy. The part time 4wd system makes a marginal difference. My driving style and cruising speed has a much bigger impact. Cheers👍

Fun watching your video, been years since I was in ZA, such a beautiful place with great people. It's so funny that here in the states, we are desperate to stick diesels in our rovers and where people have diesels they are putting in american V8's. I am running a couple of Perentie's now and just love their Isuzu 4L lumps. I reckon the best replacement engine here in the states for a landy is the crate Cummins 2.8l. That's a great shot of all the rovers, love the long wheel bases on some of them, but my favourite, has to be the series I. Cheers

It all depends on the intended use of the vehicles. You'll see the die hard fans keep by their standard rover engines (of which some hates Pugly) while the hardcore 4x4 guys run the Chevy's due to their power for dune driving. Currently my driving style would be more suited towards a powerful diesel like an M57...maybe even a future swap :) Thanks for the support

@@HendriMouton People here love putting the Chevy crate engines, usually a corvette, in jeeps and such, but if you actually own a pick up, most go with the diesels. I live on the Big Island in Hawaii, now, and everyone runs massive diesels in their lifted trucks, the dang things accelerate all the way up Mauna Kea which is over 4000 m high. They literally can go 80-90mph straight over the mountain. The M57 was in the early L322 Range Rover, but wasn't noted as a speed demon. You should be able to a cummins or a duramax in the bay. My friend and I put a cummins 4BD in his 110 HCPU running 40" you could start it off in 3rd gear high.
@HendriMouton5 жыл бұрын
@@jdenmark1287 The stock 550nm of the M57 is good enough for our use and 6cylinders would be preferred for torque and sound. 6BT would be the next consideration but at 550kg just for the engine and my current gearing it's going to work out quite expensive to change everything. For now I'll run the 3UZ while it's reliable

@@HendriMouton right on brother, if I remember right you guys used to put a 6 cylinder BMW petrol in the Defenders in the 80's-90's? I dated a girl from ZA and her folks had one when we to visit in '97
