Great video - many thanks to the two of you for sharing your knowledge. Really like the idea of the Power Puller.

How do you remove the Bog Out from the tires? Easy peasy, just reverse into the bog you just pulled yourself out from!

Just a couple of corrections and facts 1. Bush winch. Normal drive mode, CVT in "manual" 1 and traction control off. 2. Bogout. Above mode - nothing happened so switched on X mode 1 and the system worked. 3.Complete Bushwinch kit weighs about 16kg, the Bogout about 4 kg, the Wyeth Scott Power Puller 12 kg and the Bush Winch Anchor set about 14 kg. 4. The Bush winch will wich the car 30 meters, the Bogout+/- 4 meters. 5. While the car did not looked bogged down, once you stop in soft sand on a dune you will soon be bogged if you try to restart. These systems help in this situation. Thanks for filming Greg.

I carry three items: A standard 3" x 30' flat yellow strap, a 1" x 30' kinetic rope and a few 18 or 24in soft shackles. In a solo recovery situation I can run a shackle through a spoke of the wheel and attach to the flat strap. This setup mimics the Bush Winch. (I have lockers so I'm not contending with limited slip) Adding the kinetic rope to this equation gives me up to 60 feet of "winch" line. For most Buddy extractions, the kinetic rope is invaluable. *I also carry a transfer shovel by mammut

Hi mate, what's a dog bone in this sense? I can't find reference to it - is that a local slang word? I'm just interested to hear more as all recovery methods interest me... cheers

@@gurglejug627 Soft shackle is a more common term. I corrected above

The demonstration of how to use them was a kind gesture but I would love to see each item being tested.

Allen Wood 1 second ago Interesting to see these gadgets in action. What really impressed me were the old favourite sand anchors and of course the hand winch. Those attachment that attach to the wheels might work well under certain ideal conditions but I will not be confident carrying them as my only bogout system.
