Do these girls have exhaust Brakes , was amazed how the exhaust Brakes worked on steep descents and if you were really worried the air-con switched on help as well . Good work young man navigating the Spiders and steep terrain, Kathy looked pleased with her Prickly Pears lol 😂🤪😂 nom nom nom

Hi Paul, The NPS has an exhaust brake, and reasonably large brakes, so we have not had any issues on any down hill run yet. The exhaust brake when you are in low range is almost too good, as it just stops the truck. Katty is having her frozen Prickly Pear with Jin. Se She says “delicious”……. Cheers

Hey guys, i really enjoyed this episode from our backyard. I have a little story about wombats and the kroombit orb spiders for you. Old folklore says that there once roamed a tribe of wombats in kroombit area but once the white fella bought all his stock in and the flies became so thick the Orb spiders grew that big that they were taking their sexual frustration out on the wombats so they all packed their hairy noses and headed to Victoria to safety. And of course last week i forgot to mention the Curtis island sand-flies that are big enough to fornicate with chooks, hence all the local chooks taking refuge at the cwa halls around the district,,( sorry, i just had to try for a giggle) If you guys stay much longer you know we will claim you as our very own wandering nomads but i cant see much wrong with that hey. Thanks for the excellent leg work in getting the awesome video content guys, its a big thumbs up from me. Stay happy and travel save till next time.

Gday Wayneo, You had us in stitches with your Wombat/ spider story.lol. The sand flies were ok for the first day or so, then things got hectic at the Turtle Street camp. After we moved to Joey Lees it was much better, but the damage was done. Oh well, it all can’t be perfect. We will hopefully be around here a lot longer, as we would not want to miss anything. Thanks for supporting us, we appreciate it. 👍 Cheers, Katty & karl

Cool camera angles. I’m doing a bit of a catch up on your vids, been away ourselves for 6 months, March to September. Trying to catch up on a lot of stuff since we got home. 😀

Away for 6 months, that’s nice, but it seems like you already have too much work at home. You need another holiday 👍 Cheers, karl & katty
@OurWanderingWays2 жыл бұрын
@@nowhereboundtouring haha, yes would love another holiday. Maybe next year, just won’t be as long next time. Hubby had just retired so this last one was our big holiday, sadly we couldn’t go where we wanted as places were booked out, we can’t do off grid for more than a night or two. I do enjoy your travels. 😀

The prickly pear fruit is great raw just make sure that you cut well below the skin so you don’t end up with the thorn ends in it

Hey John, Thanks for the tip. Katty has eaten it raw, but not me. Maybe I should give it a try. 👍

How do you find going down hill with the auto ? Do you have to use the brakes a lot or will it crawl in low gear ?
@nowhereboundtouring2 жыл бұрын
The truck has a full lock up torque converter in every gear. It locks up just above idle. Low range 1st gear rarely needs any braking. If you use the exhaust brake it just stops, so no downhill issues on or off road( but you must brake when changing gears down hill, as once the clutch disengages it just the same as a manual). Cheers, karl

Second gear, low range on the steep stuff?
@nowhereboundtouring2 жыл бұрын
Hi Allan, I normally use 1st gear, as second is too fast and that means way too rough. 2nd is about the same speed as 1st in a standard 4WD. Cheers, karl

It does heat up well. If the engine is off, you do need to allow for extra cooking time ( lower voltage available). but it is still ok.

Good to see how well the truck went up and down the track. I had a couple of sound blank outs on the playback, not sure if anyone else had the same
@nowhereboundtouring2 жыл бұрын
@ anbu999, The tyres are performing as good as can be expected for the style of tyre that they are, I.e. not good in mud, Average on loose rocky stuff, good on the rest, and they don’t blow out before we even get of the bitumen, which is a good thing 😄
@nowhereboundtouring2 жыл бұрын
Hi Duncan, The truck went well, we are still happy with it. We did not notice any issues with the sound when rewatching it, so I’m not sure. Cheers, karl

you need to show more of the vehicle and less cabin POV of the road. We are more interested in the vehicle!
