I've got a 1994 4800 4x4 International with 9,000 original miles on it. It was formerly a fire truck and I built it into a dump truck. It has the same transfer case as this truck. LOL! I have an old Altec bucket truck. The service bed is pretty shot. The truck runs great but it is geared for highway so the 460/auto doesn't have much umph to tow with. The boom/bucket works great. Had a seal start leaking on the extension and that was a real bear. I just set it across the boxes and repacked it there. The generator/hydraulic pump took a lot to get going. I hate friggin Onans but it is what it is. It reaches 28 feet and it is scary. Outriggers are coming soon. I got it because I have no feeling from my toes to my knees. After sliding down ladders twice I had to find a solution to be able to trim trees, paint the house and make a little money hanging signs. I use the stuffing out of it. Cheers Terry

I was thinking you were probably right with the bucket truck , only other thing i could think of it it being in its first life was one of those town dump trucks with the small manhole cleaning clamshell crane on the back . If your PTO is air powered you could use a electric solenoid valve to operate it through the panel. Also : If you mount it low (near left of dashboard) you wouldn't have to get in and out of the cab to switch on/off anything. You could also mount it on a magnetic base so you can operate it standing little ways away from the truck if you would use it in that way. Cheers, Ard

Mounting for the switch panel: Overhead would be best...keeps it out of direct sunlight...out here in Arizona, solar gain is an issue for electronics mounted on the dash or exposed to direct sunlight...no matter how robust the design, they just get beat up and fail prematurely (i.e. those touch sensitive buttons with flexible clear coating/membrane/vinyl cover).

ADVICE: buy a good quality cable that has lots of separate wires inside and use that to put power to the camera and other bits on the exterior. Keep the provided cables as short as possible. If you have where to get them, buy the connectors separately (good quality ones, if you can find sealable type pairs, even better). Those wires are barely decent for house hold applications, let alone something like a truck. Were it my truck, i'd strip everything south of the cab and put one single high quality wire for all the power applications and one high quality video type camera cable (the stuff that's used to route camera systems for places like supermarts and big buildings) for the rest of the stuff (signal, trigger etc) all nicely wrapped inside a corrugated cable protector sleeve. Sidenote, dunno what your rat/mice/rodent status is, but, i figured out a little trick. Apparently, people are using copper mesh roll to stuff cavities for houses/sheds. That might work for trucks too. Any large gaps to places you don't want them in...

RBG is Red, Green Blue. From those 3 primary colors you can make any combination. Breathing, jump etc is the behavior that they have when they light up, breathing with grow and fade in brightness and so on for the different modes.

hello JC 13.22 the rear camera the RCA wire the small red wire is sometimes called a trigger wire, one end connects to the a wire at the back of the head unit "rear view" the other end go's to the camera's red plug's (red) wire. you'll need to join these two wire's with a wire running to the back up light wire. so now every time you put it in reverse the head unit will switch over automatically. but you wont it on all the time so the camera's red plug (red)wire will go to a 12v fused ignition switch. or with a 5 pin relay you could. pin 30 camera's red plug (red)wire, pin 78A 12v fused ignition switch' pin 85 earth' pin 86 has two wires on it, 1)reverse wire (back up wire) form the rear light 2) go's to the head units rear view wire. pin 87 constant fused wire. this way you'll have dashcam/rear view. thats who i have mine done. hope this helps

That'd make a super nice wrecker when together, id just leave the 1 foot gap between the cab and box and see about putting something else there, but then again if you just add the extra length to the bed, yes it'll be a odd size but the truck will be so nice when it's complete that may not matter that the bed would be on there for life probably. It may look a little nicer too and since you have yo redo the sides anyways, a option. I like that switch pannel. I've seen people use those in ford raptors and other off road builds, haven't seen anyone unhappy. I've thought about getting some for our crane trucks to run pto/ strobes/ and rear work lights on. Is the f450 doing any better cold start wise with that stiction eliminator and fuel treatment? My 2000 identical to your 450 isn't having any of those issues but it may be good preventive maintenance if It actually helps. Always love when I see a new video from you!
