4x6 H4 Headlight LED Conversion (1982-1992 Camaro)

I did this years ago on mine with HID's. Its also very easy to use a pick or similar tool to release the pins from the original connector and swap them over. Now that I'm doing my LS swap I'm going to be completely re-doing my headlight harness to run through a relay box, ceramic connectors, wiring for the good ol' 4 high mod and giving LED's a try.

Your videos are the best! Just bought a similar kit. Was kinda clueless as to how to connect the bulb to the existing Camaro socket. I really didnt want to modify the vehicle side at all. Still a little confused as to which wire goes where so ill just keep rewatching until i get it right lol! Also not sure what to do with the high beam 2 wire socket.

I have an '86 TA. DO NOT buy a halogen housing and put LED bulbs in them. Buy a H6054 LED housing. Trust me. Halogen housings with LED's don't have a good light pattern, and they blind other drivers. Google H6054 LED housing.

@@tj_gsomething_ it depends on the housing as they are all not the same. The same goes for the 4x6 led headlights.

I chose Holley Retrobrights from Headlight Revolution. With their added harness I'm running 4 low beam and 4 high beam :)

Can you replace the high and low beam with these. Or does the high beam just use different bulb with different wiring?

the H4 LEDs have high and low. so you can wire them up on the high beam side as well. the high beam plug are only 2 wires vs 3 like the low beams.

I replaced my 92 firebirds halogens with LEDs. Halogens had better color in my opinion but I like to see at night lol

I know you said that your high beams didn't work, but I have a question. Would these GS Power's headlight housings work for high beam and low beam? Is the difference just a bulb?

Not a fan of the new Holley retrobrights? Their beam pattern seems to be legit, on par with a new car. Also, can you do left/right adjustments on our cars? I’m thinking of doing quad bi-led’s :)

high beams are the same. my High beams don't work so i didn't swap them. Unfortunately the housing have been our of stock for a while cuz the Coof supply chain issues.

@@3rdGenGuy I had to use the same wire location change in my 91 when I installed H4 Halogen bulbs in glass housings since all four bulbs are three prong. for brights, it was ground to top, green to RH. All four function fine.

When I did this on mine the drives side light is a milky color and the other is normal.

@Tori L check your connections, they could be corroded, creating a bad connection, which could cause your light to be off color.

Yes you are correct. LED lights don't belong in a halogen lens. They need a projector lens.

A million ppl are gonna say those LEDs blind people. Mine don't. I made 100% sure by parking my Camaro behind my brothers car at multiple distances. no issues with blinding other drivers. even followed a local race buddy and he only said the lights were noticeable, but not blinding.

@@3rdGenGuy What about oncoming traffic? That's what I am concerned about. I'm routinely blinded by unfocused LED lights coming from oncoming traffic. Even when its lown beam. Idiots driving on high beam all the time are another discussion.

@@harshvardhansingh1780 never been flashed by anyone. they aren't as bright as the camera makes them out to be. back in high school my 92 had the high beams stuck on and man did I get a LOT of ppl flashing their lights at me lol

You should NEVER put LED bulbs in a halogen housing. LED bulbs need to go into projector housings. Don't believe me? Google it! If you do, you will be that blinding Awhole car that everyone hates. You could also cause an accident.
