Why not go with 98-02 reluctor wheels instead of mustang? What was reasoning for that? Sorry for so many questions.
@3rdGenGuy2 күн бұрын
a few reasons. 1: you can't buy OEM 98-02 tone wheels. Hawks has replacements that are like 3lbs each and $60+ lol. 2. mustang tone wheels are cheap & easy to get. 3. the Strange floater kits use 50tooth mustang ABS wheels. my main reason. I'm trying to save up for a full floater cambered 12 bolt axle. www.strangeengineering.net/product/strange-pro-touring-floater-kit-with-cambered-spindles-toe-plates-axles-and-brakes-sold-separately.html/
@joaoescudo1561Күн бұрын
Strange sells the 02 Camaro rings for $38. You think I could run those on the front? They come stock in the rear. Otherwise I need to tell them to put the mustang ones as I'm building a strange s60 to bolt right up to a 3rd gen.
@3rdGenGuyКүн бұрын
$110 to install 2 rings, miss me with that ha ha. Any tone wheel works as long as all 4 are the same. The ABS doesn't know how many teeth the wheel have. some tone wheels can be as cheap as $10 each
@joaoescudo1561Күн бұрын
@@3rdGenGuy Thanks! I decided to go with the mustang to be on the safe side. Did you not use dust shields in your build? Your backing plates look quite different from mine.
@3rdGenGuy23 сағат бұрын
no dust shields anywhere on my car. as far as the tone rings, it's whatever works really. just make sure all 4 are identical and the wheel height is the same on all 4 tires.

What's the reasoning for keeping third gen axle length rather than swapping to a 4th gen rear diff entirely?
@3rdGenGuy2 күн бұрын
4th gen axles are wider. makes wheel fitment way worse. especially since I Run custom made Forged wheels meant for 3rd gen widths.

Out of curiosity, do you know how much negative camber can be measured through this, I do a lot of alignments for friends and myself that require -5 or sometimes more. As of right now I just use a camber gauge to the hub and toe plates looking into these for the easy of getting around the wheel to adjustments easier.
@3rdGenGuy5 күн бұрын
I modified the outer fence so each will do about -4.5 camber. -5.0 is asking a lot of these ha ha. I usually run -3.5 on my track car, so. you might have to look into the billet ones that are $$$$$$

Thanks for posting. Always super helpful. Did this job a few days ago on my 88 IROC Per the factory shop manuals the rear stabilizer end link thru bolts should be installed from the bottom up with the nut mounted on top. This nut gets torqued to 16 ft/lbs while the saddle bracket bolts that hold the stabilizer bar to the rear end get torqued to 20 ft/lbs. It’s important that these all get torqued while the rear end is at ride height.

Very interesting work ! Is a prop valve still used in this kind of system ? Do you think you can get the 60-o distance down with further tuning ?
@3rdGenGuy14 күн бұрын
I use a balance bar, so no prop valve. but you can install a single prop valve on the rear brake lines after the ABS unit. or just use the ABS unit handle the rear lines without a prop valve. I think with better brakes and the MK60 race tune I could do 95ft 60-0mph
