I’m pretty sure the night you guys copped the storm, I was camped on the Mitta Mitta River between Omeo and Mitta Mitta. It sure was a doozy of a storm.

Another great adventure. That cook-up made me hungry. So long as I'm dry, I like the sound of rain when sleeping at camp. It gives me the same hypnotic pleasure as waves hitting the beach.

Great trip. What would you recommend for a solo tourer as minimum recovery setup, especially for VHC? Some people told me to never go alone but that would be so limiting to being able to go on adventures!

Thanks very much! They do have a good point, but as long as you have a map so you can pick your route (many times there are options of easy/medium/difficult tracks), and don’t take unnecessary risks like crossing extremely deep or fast flowing rivers, you should be right. I would advise having maxtrax, a winch, rated recovery points both front & back, a snatch strap, tree protector, enough D shackles and perhaps a pulley block. Some people would recommend taking a chain saw, I don’t have one and have gotten by fine without it so far. Good luck!! 🙂👍

@@4xAdventures awesome that’s what I thought too. I’ve got all that except chainsaw. I reckon worst case, with my foldable handsaw, and winch, I could pull fallen over trees off the track if really needed!

8yrs old, 20,000,000,000 corrugations - during a trip to Cape York, a crack developed on one of the corners of the Rhino Rack Backbone. Still made it to the top & back without issue, but it was time to replace. 🙂👍
