we were at that info centre and had the same bad experience, sounds like the same person served us. didn't know the area or tracks, didn't know the campsites, didn't know how to book sites, just said you can book here and have a hot shower, he eventually booked the wrong campsite, overcharged us by twice the amount and took best part of an hour....bit my tongue and walked out. If your going to work in customer service, learn your job before working on front desk !!

That’s incredible - I thought I was just unlucky and it was a one-off, perhaps it was the guy’s first day?! They really should train their staff better before being left to deal with customers.

Another good exploration trip Arti. 👍 People who do not like providing great customer service, shouldn't be in the customer service and/or hospitality industry. Even if that guy you initially spoke to at the information centre, hears the same question everyday, he should still be courteous & helpful, it's his job. If he doesn't like doing it, he should look for a job where he does not interact with the public.

Thankyou! Yes - I completely agree. Also, they should be familiar with all the campsites. I still have no idea why the campsite I was in cost $11 more than the spot next to mine and he couldn’t tell me. 🤷🏻‍♂️😊

I really enjoyed your video, it’s the first time I’ve watched your channel. I was a tour guide through the flinders for a while. Thought you’d be interested to know there are earthquakes all the time with the uplift continuing, although it gets eroded as fast as it lifts. I’ve been through quite a few quakes while living there. I also wouldn’t say how nice it would be camping in the gorges, or any creek bed for that matter. they have flash flooding from rains which could be hundreds of kilometres away. Having said all that, I honestly enjoyed watching this episode

Thankyou so much! That really means a lot. I’m very glad you enjoyed it. Agree about the dangers of camping in the gorges, but it is a lovely thought if the risks weren’t there :)

Awesome video. I just got back from an 3.5 week outback trip which included a week in the Flinders which was a highlight of our trip. While there we went for the farm stay option, which I'd highly recommend. We stayed at Arkaroola, Merna Mora and Willow Springs. The advantage of this is they give you access to some decent 4wd trails (Bunbinyunna Range track was amazing), requiring H/L (for $), as well as some gorgeous camp sites. The most we paid was $15 per car/night and the money goes to the farmers. Win win 🙂

Really enjoyed the vid mate, some excellent work and information. It really makes my blood boil with all this having to book and pay for campsites in the bush, i absolutely rufuse it, we pay enough taxes in this country as it is. Anyway, rant over, keep up the good work!

It's amazing beautiful harsh country out there to servive for a month we wouldn't stand a chance even with the modern aboriginal people today they wouldn't have a chance either , always carry an epirb 😅 and yes if the government people have no idea or clue about their job and the local area and they live there 😮 , just ask a local get their great advice and just move on where you're allowed to go local knowledge is always the best 😊 if a ranger tax collector catches up with ya just explain ya story hopefully he understands🙏and landrover people are always in a hurry to get there because their landrover will have to be trailered back home 😂 a true thing 😮

Fortunately for the rest of us you cannot camp in those spots otherwise us stupid humans will ruin it for everybody, hence graffiti on rocks and caged aboriginal sites. You just have to thank yourself great full there is a place you can camp. You should contemplate that when you are walking and driving alone.

I'm curious if you unwittingly stood on a snake and was bitten while taking that walk by yourself. Have you ever thought about something like that situation?
