I am absolutely in love with mine. I have had the pleasure of driving a lot of mustangs over the years and I use to sell Fords about a decade ago. I contemplated a GT350, but ultimately, I am so happy with it. Much more impressed than I expected to be. Mine is a handling pack premium with recaros and the way it holds to the ground has not ceased to amaze me. I am only at 760 miles right now and haven't been going hard until first oil change, but I see myself only loving it more when I really get on it.

Picked up a "used" DH with 598 miles on it about 3 weeks ago as a weekend car. I'm already at 1200 miles and I don't want to stop driving it! I absolutely love almost everything about it. I'm a little concerned about the reliability of the big screen after about 10 years, but we'll see.

Thank you for your great reviews. I really enjoy them. About 1500 miles on a GT premium since May. No performance pack. 6 speed manual. Don't plan to take it to a track. Take both grandkids to a local car show almost weekly. Front facing car seat and booster seat in back. They love riding in it. I have the same vibration/rattle on the left side of the instrument cluster. Happens only occasionally on certain stretches of the highway. But not consistently. If I drive steady at 65 in the right lane, I do get about 27 miles per gallon. But I never do that. Atlas blue. I do get comments. The screens have grown on me as well. Your review of the screens was really helpful. Also love the voice commands and Android Auto. Keep up the great work!

For the tow hook I bought a spare cover, drilled a hole in it, put a rubber grommet on and it has a clean look on the front. I agree taking the hook on and off between track events would get old.

i was gonna get one. But then I thought to myself "Am I going to race on tracks? and go to drag strips?" The answer was no. Instead got a GR86 and it controls like a dream. And only cost 32k. Beautiful.

In my region with current discounts and finance rates, a fully loaded 2024 GT 401A with Performance Pack AND Magneride is over $25k less than a base Dark Horse after taxes AND interest (600A without the track pack so same MR and tires as GT PP). The GT has employee pricing and lower rates now where as the DH is still at MSRP with higher interest rates. Absolutely insane. A local dealer has five on the lot which have been there for at least 6 months.

Great review. I’m with you on loving the digital dash, and the Brembo brakes really are very good on the S650.
@MKu644 ай бұрын
The dash functionally is fine... my big issue with it, is that people may want to keep these longer than they would in the past.. and it is clearly going to look dated extremely quickly because obviously cars are quickly going to move away from rectangular blocks on top of the dashboard... just giant square screens straight out of a Kia are going to look bad the second the next type of design comes along.... which considering these might be some of the last cars of its kind, is disappointing.
@Krisk5.04 ай бұрын
@@MKu64 I think that could be said for many different features and designs of cars from any decade. I view the screens as the current design style, and I think they are done well in the Mustang. Styles will change and who knows what dashboards and instrument clusters will look like in 15 years. I may get tired of the screens or I may continue to like them, but if I stop liking the car then it’s time to move on to the next car.
@MKu644 ай бұрын
@@Krisk5.0 I know what you're saying but I personally don't think so.. Most importantly, for me, it's lost a lot of 'style' with that implementation. The previous gen digital dash was a great middle ground for example, between style and modern function.. and I would have loved to see it as an evolution of that. The current dash seems like a stepping stone to what it should have been... and probably will be as soon as Kia designs it (sarcasm intended 😂).
@Krisk5.04 ай бұрын
@@MKu64 I get what you’re saying, but to me it’s no big deal. I’m not a car collector buying a car to save in a garage for decades. I enjoy cars, but I enjoy them by driving them. I currently like the screen and I love driving my GT on the street and track. When I stop enjoying it, I’ll get something else. It’s just a matter of perspective. I buy cars to enjoy them now. If a new style comes out that makes the current look outdated, and I really like the new style, then that’s what I’ll buy. I’m a driver, not a collector.
@MKu644 ай бұрын
@@Krisk5.0 My only issue is that I'm worried I won't be able to get what I want after this... they are getting rid of manuals.. and anything except hybrid/electric/SUVs.. in any other world I would be ok with it.. but it's that potential that I won't be able to just 'get the next thing' that's a problem for me.

Tough to get a warranty on a used GT350 4 model years out. I’d go for the Dark Horse.
@GojirasBreath2 ай бұрын
I had both and like the DH better. The gt350 was so low i couldnt leave my driveway without scraping. This was after paying $10k to cut out and reslope the driveway. The other thing is the DH is a numbered chassis that anyone could buy in the first year. Not so with gt350. They made 2015's but us common folk could only get a 2016. The engine in the gt350 though. Its special. I regret having sold it.

Nice looking car great review but idk how anyone can justify the price of a darkhorse. MSRP is as much as a C8 after dealer greed its more money. Then u have the ZL1 1LE more power better handling for the same amount of money. I think the darkhorse is a great car its sexy just way to much money. Its crazy how much cars cost today might just as well get the most out of ur investment. Unless ur a ford diehard its really hard to justify. My opinion is if the mustang GT was a dark horse at the same MSRP it would be a great deal and car.

I've owned my 2020 10R80 GT since brand new but have thrown the kitchen sink at it in terms of mods (Whipple, cooling mods, suspension and drive train stuff like carbon drive shaft, wavetrack diff etc). I just cannot justify getting a dark horse or thinking the DH would perform better than my S550.

Hey there I have a question that maybe someone here can give me an answer to, so I live in Dubai and my Dark Horse which I preordered on day one (yes we get them very late) is due to arrive next week and one of the things it's missing is the handling package which was never available here in the UAE. Now I really want those wider wheels that you get with the performance package and the question I have is how easy it is to do this? Is it just as easy as buying the wider rims? Or are there any other considerations I should be aware of?
@therealcervenka4 ай бұрын
Should be as simple as adding the wheels! You may want to pick up the wheel arches that come with the Handling Pack, too.

I think one of the biggest problems with the motor is it lacks torque. Coming out of a corner, it's like waiting at a bus stop for the power to come on sometimes. That feeling of losing its legs up top is because there's just no torque to get you going outa a corner and that continues through the whole band. A tune and E-85 would wake this motor up
@cormaro134 ай бұрын
So for that you’ll want the steeda stop the hop kit not the street but enthusiast one , it’ll stop the movement in the back and put the power down in the corners
@Stinkie_Cheese_Man4 ай бұрын
@@cormaro13 it still doesn't help. Compared to the Camaro SS 1LE, the motor just falls flat. This issue is torque. The 6.2 in the Chevy just out muscles the mustang motor where you need it: driving out of a corner.
