💭i spent january choosing which project to write, february brainstorming and outlining that project, and now i finally get to write the first draft! i wasn't expecting to succeed in writing 5k words on the first day, but I did it! @@MandysGamingGarden yay, fellow plotter! I'm so glad you're making progress! Wanting my first drafts to be perfect stopped me from finishing them for many years. Then, I tried fast drafting and never looked back xD It just made getting the first draft down so much easier, it still kind of feels like sorcery to me, and then I can edit in peace. Now I see novel writing as mostly rewriting and I enjoy editing my own words and embellishing the text for most of the writing process. and thank YOU for sharing your experience with me, I look forward to hearing more about your journey 🤗

Are you german? :) Yeah, I like fast drafting/ writing and then I hate myself, because doing correction is forever! 😄 Als I need to cut a looooot. So I don't know, if my technique is very efficient. But I like it more, than staying for 20 minutes on a sentence.

Hii, I'm not German, but my mug's from a German Christmas Market ☺️ I think no one's process is perfect, the key is really to find what works best for us. When editing, I like to do it by parts, one round for plot, one round for character, etc., so that I don't get side tracked. How do you go about cutting? 😁
