Before I found Youthman on KZbin the closest thing to the home theater was a soundbar. I had no idea how many options are on the market. Thanks to reviews like these I know I have saved A LOT of money and I am very happy with the progress. The only problem now; Another review means something else to think about. I better ask the wife for a raise soon :)

I got an old RCA powered sub off craigslist last year for $50, 12", and it shakes my walls like crazy with the bass turned all the way down on my old JVC receiver. It's great with music, so when the "old lady" isn't home I turn the bass back up. It's a bit much for movies though. LOL I always have to remember to turn it back down because it shakes everything off the walls. EVERYTHING!

Would it be ok to use the 265b with the 365c as fronts because the towers are too tall and interfere my tv above it. The extra 20cm height will bump the tv and raising the TV will be at an awkward angle.

What is missing in the home theater industry is a RATING system. Weather or not a speaker and play the highs and lows. Weather a speaker is certified by the movie industry. A Rating system from 1-10 or Good to best. A Speaker that can be Dolby, DTS and THX certified at all volume levels. Maybe Youth-man can setup a website and with help from his friends Rate all the speakers as to how well they will work in a home theater setup. Help owners of home theaters build better sounding systems.

I feel like you should have ditched the 12" sealed sub and reviewed these with the subs you prefer. That's how I think these will be used by most people. The speakers measure very well, but they need (and were designed to be used with appropriate subs).
@Youthman
@Youthman 4 жыл бұрын
A little bit of flawed logic. I don’t see someone buying a $2000 set of speakers and running them with a pair of $5000 PB16’s or $7000 in JTR subs.
@justinredmond4232
@justinredmond4232 4 жыл бұрын
You're probably right. However, these speakers measure better than quite a few speakers many times the price, so I feel they punch above their price point. So pairing them with something closer to the monolith 15" I think is exactly where people might land with these.

What's best they don't take up much room. With stands $2K can't see any competition?

Another budget amplifier you must review is Tonewinner. the specs are outstanding and perform amazing for 2 or 7 channel listening. With 2 channels driven they put out 300 watts per channel continuous, and with 7 channels driven(8 ohms) they put out 280 watts per channel all channels driven. I took a gamble on this A/B amplifier, and I was not disappointed. I'm in Canada and they're available from Summit HiFi. Please check the line out. the amplifier that I own cost around $1700 CAD.

The RP-8060FA that I reviewed was an incredible speaker. The RP-8000F is the same speaker just minus the Atmos module. The 504c is inferior to the 365c. I compared those and others recently. The 365c has much better off axis performance and is more transparent and by the I mean, the imaging and how it projects the sound makes it anchor to the screen better than the 504c. The 504c has more bass but that's hardly important since both still be crossed at 80hz. I wish they came without the Atmos tops though

It's insane because home subwoofers are powered with 115v so they don't need as many watts to output loud bass. Those 2,000watts are car audio levels of wattage which get powered with a mere 12volts. Can those subwoofers handle a continuous 2,000 watts? Edit: I now have 6 subwoofers in my cinema room all of which are powered by a 120v AC to 12v DC power supply. It's insane. 7.6.2 setup (lol).

@@Youthman They aren't even that expensive since I bought car audio subwoofers. I'd say about $600 for all of them, including the amps for them. And in all honestly, my light fixtures shake along with my door. My room resonance is around 40-45hz, so when a movie (such as Gravity) hits those frequencies, you can feel the couch vibrate your whole body and windows start to shake a bit too. And in some areas you can feel the air being pushed. 2 of the subwoofers are a bit more expensive ones that handle more power and that's the one that does the heavy lifting when it comes to lower notes, all the way down to 10-15hz. It can play even at 1hz, the amp is very good, but it will heat up since it isn't cooling itself down. Here's the link for those 2 bad boys if you're interested. (www.ebay.com/itm/302951868909)

Youthman mentioned the sub was not to his liking for his needs but did offer alternatives, also said the built in Atmos was not very good. But I got the points that the speakers themselves are very good value for money. In fact they are even cheaper here in the UK. Sadly we have to pay a much higher price for Klipsch and never get any deals on them, Monolith has a few deals on atm. So great time to buy if you are looking for a very good front soundstage for just under £1000.
