This is peak form of Ryze reworks, the gameplay felt smooth and entertaining, all riot had to do was tweak his dmg/ratios and let players enjoy. His combo was not button smashing, spells had to be used in correct order or you would get cooldowns. It was something like q-w-q-e-q-w-+r & repeat but it only worked when he gained passive stacks. So that enemy players would always keep an eye like they do against Rengar ferocity. RIP season 5 Ryze, may you never be forgotten.

@@spooghetti5679 you'd think so if you never played it yourself, if I remember correctly the passive was every time you used a skill the other skills would lower the cooldown based on Q, therefore the combo was Q-E-Q-W-Q-R-Q-E-Q-W-Q if you messed up (for instance E-W-Q) then you'd end up having all skills on cooldown, honestly it was overpowered but if they tuned down the damage I'd say it was x100 times more fun and fluent to play

TheKaratejesus Dota2's hero winrates in soloQ range from 61% to 48%, leagues varies from 55% to 45%, so in reality they are both equally balanced. BTW, ryze isnt even top 10. He has a 51% winrate, thats pretty "balanced".

SirusKing Ryze winrate hasn't hit 50% since s4, he is at 45% right now. Also, when pulling statistics its common to put the larger number last. E.g. 48%-61%, Etc.

SirusKing The heroes that do well in solo queue do not equate to heroes that are good in professional play. Any of the top winrate heroes are usually easily countered actually :P In contrast to the higher winrate heroes, the lower ones are often times incredibly difficult to play heroes (Tinker, Chen, Io) or heroes like Alchemist which now have some new ability that many people want to try out (and lose a lot with because they have never done it). Remember Bard's winrate? Or Kassadins?

Yes. Not only did they remove all depth and variety in his combos, but they also gave him an R that doesn't fit for two reasons: 1) Ryze players liked playing Ryze because he was a tanky DPS powerhouse that was very good at 1v1's. His team and assassin-oriented R contributes nothing in that vector. 2) Riot wanted to lower the gap between newbie Ryze players and top competitive (e.g. LCS) Ryze players, but his R can only be used to its potential by an organized team. Ryze's R is a nice ability and all, but they should have found some other champion to tack it onto. Ryze just doesn't feel like Ryze anymore.

Yo the champion is barely played right now cuz YES as you said they removed the tanky DPS ultimate 1v1 Ryze, they decreased the skill curve which i'm okay with.. but heavy removal of combos and variety was not ok.. removal of the no cooldown machine and the AoE master wasn't okay, too, if they wanna fix him they could make ult range a bit longer and make his ult have a passive and -for god's sake- make his Q deal some sort of AoE damage because right now if he can't land Q he can't deal damage

After seeing this video I immediately went to soloq, played Ryze, won game, didn't really carry hard, I was more like secondary carry. But I killed full hp Gnar in a 1v1, at lvl 6 and he didn't even scratch me. People don't expect that kind of dmg on Ryze. Jerremy Khiev Maybe against champs who don't have dash stuns or pulls. The problem is that its a bind, and if you get in his face you can wreck him. Darius would probably do the job, Maokai can do decent, fiora, wukong, kha, even rumbles w will do decent, especially if you ult him. What will happen is he is going to bind you as soon as you get in his face, then he has to walk out of your attack range while casting spells, before he can get away from you the bind is already up. you just take a step forward and you're back in his face again, then binded again. :)

People complaining about Ryze being broken are mostly bronze/silvers. Ryze has obvious weaknesses and he is hard to play, each combo is different. Now with the 5 capped spell reset he is way weaker. Ryze now is worthless if you know how to play. The ones that says "imma play ryze now and get freelo" are the ones that doesn't know how to play Ryze and are stuck in low elo. Diamond 1 here.
