These well thought out and feature filled uniforms look promising, and it will be interesting to see if V.XI manages to break in to the BDU market.

Definitely would be a hit in the civilian market. Crye doesnt really advertise to the people so 5.11 could definitely capitalize on this. Just add colors.

Crye uses flame resistant fabrics that don't glow under night vision. I want to know if this melts or glows. My pilot people's don't even wear synthetic underwear. You do down you may be wearing those suckers for life!

Seriously I really need pants like that for outdoor wilderness activities. Simply for the built in knee protection. I've already have knee damage from a combo of work, recreation and service activities and injuries from poor to non existing knee protection.

I got my department wearing the 5.11 PDU about 10-11 years ago. They’ve held up well. Outstanding durability, great fabrics, good features. I’m excited for these.

I’m retired in northern Idaho, most of my clothing is tactical arcteryx, Oakley, 5.11, I agree with some of the other comments, I would definitely buy the pants/shirt for biking hiking, since I live in the mountains these would be ideal, the knee pads are nice!! would help protect my bilateral knee replacements. Knee pad integration already exists for mountain biking pants in spades. They usually aren’t good on any pant because they aren’t tight like a separate pad so they can slide in a fall.

I wear a similar pant from Duluth Trading which are almost perfect only lacking the extra stitching on the pockets, which always wears out eventually, and the knee pads, which would really help out when working on concrete and scalding hot roofs and decks this summer. Duluth offers tall sizes which I also need. I have never seen 511 pants long enough for me. Companies only selling things to “operators “ is beyond ridiculous. Thanks for the video

As a Correctional Officer, most facilities won't buy these kinds of clothes but they do typically allow you to use them if you purchase them. So seeing these come to the Civilian Market would be sweet.

Make it Navy Blue with a FR fabric and there's a world of industrial workers that would love it. They'd have to market them to the Safety Guys, and that might turn off your 'tier one' clients. Though, 5.11 does make my favorite EH rated boots, so there's that.

The pants would be very in demand for the blue collar fields, most probably the top as well just for integration alone. Plumbing and carpenters wear heavy belts and the back swoop of the pants would be added comfort. Also the venting and comfortability would be great for outdoor workers and construction. 5.11 should really consider making coveralls , they have a nice eye for detail.

Interested, but some key points: Different color patterns/camo patterns than just the grey. If civilians are buying it we're gonna want it to work in our environment, and not everyone wants to larp as a fed IRR/NIR compliance. How does it look under night vision? What material is being used? How was it treated? It's a bigger and bigger concern among the civilian tactical market to not glow like a 3 letter agent on the internet when someone runs an IR light over you.

Probably the best space in the civilian market 5.11 could hit with this is the harder to get colors. Give the people M81, DCU/chocolate chip, Rhodesian brushstroke, Tiger stripe, and some others, and it’ll be a hit. Crye’s pretty much got the market on lock, but they don’t offer the funny patterns. Fill that niche
