I never imagined that an eight-year-old video on KZbin will help me in logic than a three thousand pesos per unit, logic lessons my parents paid in a university.

I honestly thought i'll fail my logic class because i did not understand my professor at all. Learning from you gave me hope that not only will i pass, i will pass with an A. You're a life saver!! I want to go to law school after i graduate and will start prepping for the LSAT this month. I wish you taught LSAT video lessons too on youtube, i'd choose your videos over any other study material offered any second.

I have an exam today. I didn't understand 5.2, but after watching this I did a practice exam. After I reviewed my answer I got them correct. It made it easy when you separated the Venn diagrams. My instructor didn't explain it as well as you. Thanks!!!

Thank you very much for your video. I have to answer such questions for an acceptance test for medschool and your videos are very helpful. I would like to ask a question: We get a little bit different tasks here with a Major and Minor and five possible answers of which one is “no conclusion is correct”. We can always only choose ONE solution, if there are 2 possible solutions, we have to choose the stronger one. One example: All Parrots are animals Some Birds are Parrots A: All animals are blackbirds B: Some birds are animals -correct C: Some parrots are animals - that could also be correct, or am I mistaken? D: Some Parrots are birds - that could also be correct, or am I mistaken? E: No conclusion is correct. So how do I know then with your method, which answer I have to choose? In courses for the test, we learn to draw a couple of different Venn Diagrams with many combinations to solve the problem. thank you in advance for your help

sir simply i would say YOU ARE PERFECT....
@PhilosophicalTechne12 жыл бұрын
Hi. Its counter-intuitive but the rule is simple. When you fill up a section you are actually taking it off the map and out of the equation. For instance, if you diagram an E statement (No S are P) you would "fill" in the football shaped section where the two circles overlap. What that would mean is that there is no section where the two classes (or circles) overlap and hence, both S and P are utterly distinct separate. Does that make sense?

Can you please explain to me, The determining of the "X" placement? I am still confused. How is it that when you say "Some M are not P" but place an "X" on the border btween the S and M. How is that placement determined?
@christopher328710 жыл бұрын
It's most likely too late, since it seemed you were on a time schedule. But the X is placed on the line ONLY if you have two spots where it COULD go. In the example you pointed out, there were two spots that ARE an M but NOT a P (because they both fall outside of the P circle completely). So because you can't determine which spot it goes in, you must place it on the line.

I am doing some examples of tests questions online, and have run into a question I am unable to get the correct answer. I was hoping you could help me understand. It reads as follows: All I are P No I are G Some G are not P I read this conclusion as being valid, but the answer is indicating that it is invalid. Could you please explain?
