Not listening to my gut ie whether to check bet reraise 3bet. Was out of tge swing for 3 or 4 months feel like my mentals went away. What to in in diff spots, before I would be more rapid alot quicker with decision making. Just wonder what you think might help? Always a pleasure.... Started with you in your young days TBG

For me speed and precise execution come with confidence. Confidence comes from knowing what to do. Knowing what to do comes from studying. You can fake it to someone else but you can't lie to yourself at the table. If you don't know what to do you'll hesitate and lose conviction and make mistakes.

In the second hand, you guys mentioned that you have a lot of hands like A8, but why is that a better call than KQ? As you mentioned, he should never take this line with worse for value and I doubt you lose to any bluffs with KQ there. Or do you think you have enough flushes that you can just call flushes and fold strong queens and middling aces? Would be interesting to hear what to call there and why.
@LexVeldhuisTV2 жыл бұрын
I just have enough Ax to call with, so adding KQ just makes me call too often. Also Ax blocks his valueshoving combos, whereas KQ doesn't. He's never going allin with a Q over my bet
@janpiet99212 жыл бұрын
@@LexVeldhuisTV Yeah that makes sense, blocking boats. Is that also a better blocker than the king of diamonds for example. Or is just any hand with a relevant blocker a call here?

So for hand 1 I get the river is a bet, but you didn’t talk at all about what to do against a raise on the river… which seems important to evaluate if you think a bet is good??

When you multitable, you really don't have the time to think all these through. What do you base your decisions then? Is it theory, gut-feeling, million hands experience? I think that the studying and history that you have in poker, your gut-feeling is the correct one on most situations. Because all the theory, education and experience make that gut-feeling.
@LexVeldhuisTV2 жыл бұрын
I think the more yuou do this work the better and quicker your in-game instincts become. Because for sure I'm not thinking about this much detail, but repeatedly reminding yourself where the raisers off-suit raising range is dense around is very very repetitive and helpful
@jussiraikkala14822 жыл бұрын
@@LexVeldhuisTV Daniel Kahneman's book Thinking Fast and Slow talks about this. Often your gut-feeling is right. And if you overthink the situation and change from your gut-feeling, you probably go wrong
@jussiraikkala14822 жыл бұрын
And we are talking about the same thing. I'm not saying that you can stop studying and just go by your instincts. I'm saying that the more you work and study, the better are your instincts and your first analysis of the situation is the correct one. And therefore you can multitable, because you don't have to think so much.

I believe i dare to say i disagree with this analyses. Just because i play a certain style as a bigstack that i believe he is doing too. For me as a bigstack especially bl vs bl wen ranges are weakish i tend to exploit gto players and only go for big pots 20/30bb or higher(because there is where the payoff as a bigstack is)where the gto player overconsiders ranges imo. Because consider your opponents preflop play,does he 3x with any broadway with a diamond? And does he bigbet the flop to put weak aces in a tough passive spot?and would'nt you bet at least 50% pot at the river for value if you had an ace yourself.... From his point of view,if he loses 50bb from his 200bb stack it does'nt harm much...but the 20/30bb add on is huge for a bluff like J10 with a diamond or Q10/K10/KJ...because he played it big,he can rep more aces and flushes than you do.

I love u lex but in the second hand you should be leading the turn 0% I don’t know why we are even discussing leading the turn when the ace pairs after a pot size bet on the flop, and the river leading range should also be 0% with the hand we have ☹️
