I still remember the KTTV TV station sign-on on saturday mornings at 6am, playing Garfield or Looney Tunes cartoons. Those were the days.🥺😊

I would have thought that KTTV was broadcasting 24/7, or at least late into the evening at this point. But they and their indie competitors KTLA and KHJ-TV also were off the air by 2:30 AM. The only major Los Angeles station that pulled an all-nighter on that day was KCBS-TV (thanks to "CBS News Nightwatch"). KCOP came close, going to bed at 4:30 and waking up 90 minutes later.

The LA TV heydays. KTTV was at 5746 Sunset Blvd. Hollywood and rival KTLA was right across the street at 5800 Sunset Blvd. KTLA remains in Hollywood, KTTV has since moved to West LA.
