@@the_nephandi4551 people often speak as if interesting game is expressed as the game which there are so many inaccuracies and blunders. in fact, the final game between Radjabov and Aronian was the most interesting game because of their solid and flawless moves. they did not play just the same games played before. Dubov was making a move while Stockfish showing -5 in the other and Teymur and Levon are just two machines and who was making inaccuracies has lost.
@d3runb3kannt334 жыл бұрын
@@mental_suicide Yeah but watching two machines playing, who are completely equal until one guy makes a small inaccuracy, that I could never see or even understand, doesn't seem interesting to me. I mean I dont really understand what is going on there. I could look at stockfish and maybe it would tell me "white is better by a small margin if he does this 7 move combo" but that's just way over my head. So yeah, I like Dubov's games more, where he goes for risky attacks that lead to crazy matches instead of perfectly played games that I dont understand, where on player somehow wins because he is up 1 pawn.
@mental_suicide4 жыл бұрын
@@d3runb3kannt33 I like Dubov's game when he plays perfect except 1 sacrifice or rather say, plan, which he does intentionally to trick the opponent. but he did so many sacrifices in this tournament and this is not so charming since his opponents did find most of the times. I wouldn't watch two stockfish 12 fighting each other, however, Teymur and Levon are humans, that's why it comes me so interesting when they play those stockfish moves and make a positional mind games. I'm even not a chess player, my lichess rating is about 1900, and I think if I was a good chess player, I would enjoy more from those flawless games oftenly.

I feel so sad for Dubov, because he is the only one I can see that is trying to change the current chess theory and mix it up a bit. His games are so interesting and I wish that in future this will be rewarded by him becoming the best. I mean what to say when he has 2-0 advantage and he doesn't play for a draw.

Everyone always talks about Dubov and Tal, but I think Fischer would be really proud to see Dubov’s games. A lot of his disinterest in chess came with the formulaic openings, which took all the innovation and inspiration out of chess, but I think games like these, played almost 50 years after Fischer retired, would make him happy to see that there are still players out there who are willing to be exciting.

It’s nice to see everyone rooting for Dubov. I always liked his playing style, and seeing him win against Carlsen the other day was really exciting, but it’s definitely disappointing seeing his performance afterwards. I can’t imagine even playing at that level in competitions, but seeing him lose five or six times in a row where he had a favorable position makes me think that checkmating Carlsen in the Airlings got to his head a little and he lost track of his intuition. And that’s completely understandable. I would have completely floundered in his position. But I was hoping to see more great stuff from Dubov in the past few days because he was completely on fire for like a week. I’m sure there’s a lot more good stuff to come from him too, I was just rooting for him so much in the Airthings Masters and now I feel like I’m rooting for the Mets again (still a Mets fan, loyalty’s still there). Hoping for another 13 move mate soon

The sequence of numbers is referring to the quantitative match outcome (determined by an extremely strong engine) at different points in the game. M6 means that mate in 6 is possible and the mate will be forced after 6 moves assuming perfect play from both players. The larger the number (before mate is possible) the more significant the advantage for that player. In games between engines, e.g. AlphaZero vs. Stockfish, an engine will resign once its opponent has an advantage that yields a rating with a magnitude of 10.

lol, at 6:05 I got the right move for the wrong reasons. Didn't even realize that the f6 knight was the juicer in this position - was thinking that I was attacking the rook!

Earlier when adagmator first brought up the Qb3 tactic for Dubov, it got me thinking "in the mode" of looking in that area. Which I probably (definitely) might not have done had the tactic not been demonstrated in analysis. So your focus suddenly switches toward that window and latches on to that. When Dubov played Bh6, I felt certain he was seeing the same "mode" as we were. The Bg7 move was not as hard to see once you were in the "mode" of thinking - boosted along of course with Agadmator's analysis. Apparently not so for Dubov. It's funny how you have to somehow break your "tracked mode" to see these things.

I’m not familiar with the Airthings time format but this is one of my favorite because it shows how even the most genius chess minds can miss blunders/mates. I could only assume this is a blitz/bullet... tbh if I had 24h I would still miss these beautiful mates our fine curator so quickly analyzed

at 6:20 can't you also just capture the bishop on f8, if black recaptures you get a royal fork on d6 and if black doesnt recapture, white's up a bishop, or am I missing something. Would appreciate if somebody could confirm.

I think black just recapture bishop with his king and then its not a fork on d6 and if u take on d6 with knight then white takes your pawn in b2

Hey Agadmator, I have a suggestion for you that you can try and see if it works. Try and use add an evaluation bar to the board so the viewers would see what the engine thinks of different moves/positions. I think that it could add a lot to the experience. Saw it in one of Hikaru's videos and thought it was nice.
