Decided to replace the Carven muffler with a Borla XR-1 40085. Sounds almost the same, lol. I'll be adding an electric cutout very soon though.

yea I'm trying to see if the sound I'm looking for comes from running the tips out the side preferably in front of the rear tires,i have 9 inches of lift,so clearance is ok,but the gas tank is there,I'm going to call borla and ask,because i don't want the WOOMP WOOMP WOOMP sound,I'm after the snap crackle pop sound known for being borla and i think its going to have to be out the side you know what i mean,funny thing is all the cammed chevy videos are here in texas haha we love our cammed chevys huh.long story short back in the day,i had a 96 blck ext/cab s-10 with a 96 Vette engine and i had flow master dummy me,i always thought that borla was for cars and the first ones i saw it on were the LS1 camaro's and Transams ya know,i never even thought to put borla i wish i would have,that truck hauled ass big time.i miss it.oh well so I'm going to order two borla XR-1's off amazon i guess there oval and try to run them out the sides.take it easy bro.listen to my truck video if you want.later its got the flows on it now.ughh lol

I changed out my whole interior to light gray with a center console out of a 03-06 Tahoe & the a-pillar from a tahoe with the Bose tweeter. I have a 4.8 in it but I also have a 6.0 block as well. I brought a BTR stage 2 truck cam, BTR pushrods, BTR valve springs, Corvette servo. I just had my heads rebuild with new valves. I haven’t installed all of that yet. I’m debating should I put it in my 4.8 or in my 6.0. Reasons why the 6.0 is going to waste a lot of gas.

It actually doesn't technically have tips anymore, it's the 3" pipe all the way back to the corner behind the back passenger side tire.

@@erick._150 Yeah the XR-1 is more refined and a bit deeper tone, that is why I went with it. Going to try the ATAK crate muffler soon actually, it's supposed to be the loudest Borla.

It look like its dumped right behind the passenger wheel. You can see where condensation comes out onto the concrete.

Luis Ortiz I’m very impressed with this cam’s power curve through the RPM range. It’s added good power and torque across the board but still has great street manners paired with the 3200 converter. Honestly, the Carven sounded better because it was louder at idle, but the Borla is more tolerable and sounds better under throttle, in my opinion. I have since put an electric cutout on it, so that’s my favorite, lol.

Jesus Torres it’s pretty loud. But I don’t have cats with long tubes. There’s no drone or anything, but there’s never a time where you can’t hear it. It’s pretty rowdy. But it sounds great. Even though it’s pretty loud at idle and cruising speed, it’s significantly louder when you lay into the skinny pedal.

It's great for getting these big heavy trucks out of the gate. We just put one in an SS Trailblazer LS2 with ported and polished heads. Its a monster all the way to about 90mph. The cam isn't really designed to yield much up in the higher RPM range, but it gives loads more down low and improves the power curve across the board.

Jose Camacho no sir. On these newer trucks, the LT's don't hang down past the frame like some of the older square bodies and such. Good to go.

Dan Teague negative. The cam won’t allow that. What you’re hearing is under 1000rpm. The cam profile and it’s overlap create the rhythmic chop you hear instead of lumpy idle as this cam is designed for low to mid range peak power for heavy trucks.

onewheelup it's actually just dumped at that passenger side rear corner. If you look on the ground you'll see the wet spot on the ground from the moisture. Now if you dumped it right off the muffler under the bed and in front of the axle, yes, it would rumble much deeper but also be ungodly loud inside. Ask me how I know, lol.
