A wonderful Montage. Words simply cannot capture the magic of what has been witnessed this season. From Jackie and Shadow's nest preparation, incubation and careful feeding, teaching and nurturing, it has been a transcendent experience. To all those that were gifted to know Spirit for the first 113 days of her new life, she may have left the area by this time, but has left so much more with each one of us that remains forever. The time passed like a mist, but memories eternal. May you soar high, live your purpose like Jackie and Shadow intended, always have a full crop, and know that you are very, very much loved. How did I get so attached that I'm crying so many tears of happiness and sadness at the same time. Why because I watched her from being laid as an egg then breaking out and becoming a beautiful and happy and confident bird, wonderful eagle. I will miss seeing you everyday but know this won't be the last we see of you, lovely Spirit.

Update as of 4:45pm when she came BACK already and Shadow fed her. Watching her at 11:00pm PST and Fiona keeps scavenging in the nest as Spirit is "alone". I just turned my computer back on as I was sad she left and was SO excited she made it back! After the heartbreaks after Simba, Spirit was awesome for all of us and J & S! :) Love them all and yes I am a 56 year old man and cried today several times!

This was truly beautiful. Just like my own 3 children. They mean the World to me and I have that same love for Spirit. I had no idea I could love an Eagle so much. Ok, I've been watching all the fledging videos and finally broke down and cried with this one. Beautiful! LOVE the song! It fits the moment and the images perfectly. (When did Steve record it? Has a Leonard Cohen feel.) This was my first eagle fledge, starting from right before hatching. I'm so glad it was with Spirit, J&S, and FOBBV. This eagle family is amazing!
