Sup Nash. I started playing as a frost mage after I hit lvl 90 and noticed that my average dps was around 40k which is the same thing I had back in Cata while I was playing arcane. After doing some research I discovered your video and switched back to Arcane. It was a great improvement and I feel much more comfortable with arcane. Keep up the great work man.

Great guide BigNash, as a 530 ilvl frost mage im interested to see what your feelings are about the frost mage changes. Ive been doing some testing on PTR also and I have mixed feelings about it tbh. Tempted to switch to arcane myself, especially with the rune of power improvement.

Oh i see. On your elvui interface in the right side of your chatbox there is the rune of power buff that u put on the floor, how did you put a timer inside of them? and that mana Bar with 100% is an aura, or an addon?

so Nash with the 2 set bonus for the new tier think you can get off another arcane blast before resetting since it reduces the mana cost

Heya, What do you think about taking look again at incanter's ward. I'm lazy and I hate rune of power micromanagement, and evois so kludgy feeling. I started using incanters ward just to see, mana regen is amazing, fits well with arcane to max power very easily, and the ward is very easy to manage as an instant cast. The passive dmg buff is also quite good. "Increases spell damage by 6% and increases mana regeneration by 65%. This effect is deactivated while Incanter's Ward is on cooldown."

Hey man just found you tonight on here, while I was looking to see what I was doing wrong with my Mage. I'm full frost right now and even though it says they're top dps, I'm not pulling what I think I should be. I was considering dual spec with arcane after watching your video. I know I always use to use the loose mana glyph so I could get twice as much mana from the mana gem when using it with alter time. is that not worth doing?

on noxxic.com frost is top for realistic on my spec, which is 542 atm, in raidbots.com arcane seems to dominate it, is it because those guys have really good gear or is it that good around my item level?

Replace the "Lazy mage" Glyph with a Bigger Arcane Explosion. really helps for a lot of fights like Shamans when you need to burn adds and cant get close. plus you can max your dps by getting more targets in your AoE.

With Heirlooms, the only class that beats me outside of tanks are Arms warrior, but by like 1% in aoe situations, single target Disc Priest by a % or two.

Do you find frost mage deal less dps than fire mages or acanes? a lot people say that, is that true? esp in higher level mages, frost's dps is very low, thoughts?

As a token to proof, check out icy-veins and or noxxic. Currently in BiS gear, arcane mages do more dps than fire/frost. But a lot comes down to individual skill here.

Might I suggest that all arcane mages should be using nonchanneling macros so its easier to spam spells more effectively.

tukui(dot)org He's using ElvUI I believe, just download it from the website, and then put the folders into your interface-addons folder. Start up the game, and follow the installation process that comes up when you start it up. Keep in mind that ElvUI is a full ui composition that replaces the standard blizzard UI. Step 8/9 make sure you check for -Integrated- auras, so they show up above your characters name, this way they are easier to track.

Loving Arcane now, just one issue I am 572 Item level and have the heroic amp trinket, but dunno which trinket to go for, the Black blood of y'sharj or the kadris toxic totem both normal. Hit harder with kadris on dummy , but Icyveins says the black blood is better. Plz reply ty.

kardis is better if you dont bother with "snapshotting" and just want to dps away and not line up your procs with CDS, if you want to min/max, i would use black blood and wait till 8-9 stacks then pop your CDs, but line it up with other procs,

Depends on how u play. I take garrosh trinket for the extra stats. but shamans trinket is ok. usually pops 130-200 times a boss fight.

I out dps fire and arcane mages as frost still and yet they have better gear at 562 itemlevel and they are 563+ dunno man frost is still viable imo.

SuperElymas gonna give arcane a try though the stats are identical to frost due to frost having 48% haste cap which i still have after going mastery>haste so I will see how it goes.
